The most tragic excuse of a lunch buffet I have ever come across. Food was terrible and sensationally overpriced. 3 stars only for the one polite server I talked to briefly and for the pool view.

Casa Lisboa is a Portuguese themed restaurant inside Royal Goan Beach Club. The staff is welcoming. Service is good. The place is not really pocket friendly. Food was good. Orange and Olive Salad was a juicy, citrus salad. The flavors went well together. Mocktails were okay.

This is the in-house restaurant of the Karma Royal Haathi Mahal Resort in Cavelossim, South Goa, where we were staying for 5 days earlier this month. Just as fantastic as the rest of the resort, Casa Lisboa doesn’t fail to impress. We practically started and ended our trip at this restaurant. On our very first day, due to an early arrival, we crashed in for their buffet breakfast. And on our last day, just before leaving, we hogged on their buffet lunch! We also ordered room service from the restaurant on many occasions. Buffet Breakfast:Timings are from 7 to 10.30 am roughly.Who doesn’t love a good, sumptuous breakfast? True to their name, the breakfast spread was literally like a royal feast! Beginning from fruit juices, to cornflakes and milk, fruit platters, cheeses, croissants, sausages, thin meat slices to actual heavy breakfast – hash browns, medu wada, pancakes with maple syrup, donuts and some stuff that I don’t even remember! Delicious! They give you the best kind of start to your day – brilliant breakfast. With equal amounts of options for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians. Room Service: We ordered the exact same things for room service twice. Veg. Biryani (comes with Raita)Black Dal/Dal Makhani Masala Papad Ordering the same stuff twice is pretty much a sign of how much we liked the food. Top quality, fresh, excellent taste, always reached our room hot (even though it was quite far from the restaurant). The Dal Makhani was exceptionally great! Lunch Buffet: Timings are from 12.30 to 3.30 pm (A little bit uncertain) I cannot get over how amazing the lunch spread was. It was a good decision to opt for the buffet instead of alakarte. We started off with the hot and sour soup along with bread, butter and the cheese platter. The mains had cuisine options – Indian and Mexican+Continental. Mexican rice, Tawa Paneer, Paneer Makhanwala, a chicken curry and a few more non vegetarian vegetables, along with rice and daal. The great thing is that they don’t leave naans, rotis or other breads on the buffet, but prepare them hot and give it to you. We had the Cheese Chilli Naan. For desserts they had Chocolate, Vanilla and Pista flavoured ice-creams along with options of cakes and pastries. This meal was definitely the best one we had. Everything was so delicious. We couldn’t move a muscle after we were done!Food – 4.5/5Service – 4.5/5Ambience – 4.5/5Value for Money – 4/5I have as good as no complaints from Casa Lisboa – great food and an even greater pool side indoor + outdoor setup. Definitely lived up to their 5 star rating! Highly recommended whether you’re staying here or not, especially for their Indian food. To a great trip and hopefully many more visits! Cheers 🙂 PS: Totally missed out on getting pictures of the amazing spreads. I guess it’s alright to focus JUST on the food once in a while, especially on holidays 😉
