These guys are illegal using our official registered name Double Dutch Resort. The law says: Companies Act, 2013, vide Section 4(3) read with Company Incorporation Rule 8(2)a(ii)), states that a company shall not be registered with a name which includes the name of a registered or a pending trademark. We are registered under the Company Act: CIN U55101TN2001PTC047705Company Name DOUBLE DUTCH RESORTS PRIVATE LIMITEDROC Code RoC-ChennaiRegistration Number 047705We ask ZOMATO to remove this restaurant from their site because they are illegal operating by using our name.
This place deserves every bad review it has received already. It pretends to be a hangout place for the foreigners but I have no idea why. Service is unfriendly, seemingly doing a favor when taking the orders. But the most horrible is the food. All 3 dishes we ordered were hideous: The Indonesian spring rolls turned out to be momo-like dumplings deep fried in oil, consisting in 90% of pastry and 10% of tasteless filling-nothing Indonesian about it.The beetroot salad consisted of 300g of RAW grated beetroot without any seasoning. It was served with a tumbler of white sauce. It think even a cow wouldn’t like to eat it. Beetroots can be served steamed, cooked, fried or pickled, but raw taste like soil and 2 spoons of it gave me upset stomach. Finally, the exorbitantly-priced main course consisted of 4 small mushrooms with a piece of cheese and one charcoal-black capsicum stuffed with something extremely spicy, but at the same time with no flavor. The filling would probably taste like a byriani if diluted 100 times.Absolute mess and confusion. Dishes trying to be Asian and European and the same time, but the cook has simply no idea about flavors from either cuisine. My friend was lucky enough to throw up all he ate 10 mins after we left the place and he was fine the next day. I wasn’t and I ended up with food poisoning for the next 2 days.Randez-vous Restaurant next door is cheaper and serves much better food.To be avoided.
I am sure it is NOT Double Dutch Restaurant at Arambol.See TripAdvisor: Reviews-Double_Dutch-Arambol_Goa.htmlThis guy stole the name of their lovely restaurant and is misusing our official registered name of Double Dutch Resort in South India: http://www.doubledutchresort.com
I am not sure if Zomato has got this place or the menu right. I distinctly remember the Double Dutch restaurant to be distinctly different from what it appears in the pictures and the menu. I will let you decide for yourselves. When we went in 2014, Double Dutch was a quaint little cafe on the Arambol Beach Road with a neat bookshelf and a lot of artwork on display. We went around the breakfast time and the food that they had served was delicious. The Ginger Pancakes were steeped in the flavors of Ginger and Honey, the Ham and Bacon Toasties were brilliant pieces of toasted goodness and the Chicken Curry Mayonnaise was a great little burger filled with chicken mayonnaise. We immensely enjoyed the food, and I daresay that Zomato has got the details of this place all wrong, probably took them from a resto which duplicated the name.
