Our First meal at Bogmalo. We were so drawn to Stiff Waves because of the simplicity of the interiors, it has a very homey Goa vibe. We ordered a Prawn Pulao and a Goan Sausage Pulao, we weren’t too impressed with either, the lack of flavor in both dishes got us wondering if we made a mistake making this our first meal destination for this trip.The Prawn Pulao:While the texture of the rice and prawns were on point, it lacked the blending of flavors. The whole spices, rice and prawns, all these elements just didn’t fuse well enough to be deemed a Prawn Pulao.The Goan Sausage Pulao:Again, the texture of the rice was on point, but flavor was lacking so so much.
I’ve been here multiple times and not once have I been disappointed. Being a youngster I have certain budget constraints that I have to comply with and this place just fits the bill. It’s less expensive compared to other shacks in Bogmalo and the inverse relation with the quantity. Ambience is okayish though as a foodie I’m finally concerned about the food which is amazing and decently priced.
On a very lazy night I decided to take a parcel and Stiff waves is the first shack as you enter the Bogmalo Beach on the right side of the entrance. Didn’t have the patience to walk more so thought of trying here.Ambience – It’s a very small place, with plastic tables and chair. There is no décor as such and it was not very neat. They have a television. One good thing is that they will set up a table on the beach on request.Service – The staff was very polite and treat their customer well but on the downside they take really long time to serve the food. I just ordered one dish and the place was empty when I ordered but still they took a really long time to give the parcel.Food – I just ordered one veg Fried Rice, it was packed so well in a foil-cardboard box that it remained warm till I took it back to my room. The quantity of fried rice was quite good for it’s cost, it will definitely fill one person. It tasted good and had a good amout o f veggies in it. One main thing worth mentioning about it is that it had less amount of oil unlike most of the shacks. There wasn’t a lot of options in drinks section.If you are at this place and a vegetarian then definitely try Veg Fried Rice which costed Rs.150. I would recommend take away rather than dining here.
This place so cheap but cost is highAmbiance is very bad. alcohol what they given to customer I think that is not original.mix of some cheap drinks.
Loved the food and care taken. Home here with home food. Best in fish curry and crabs. They even took us on fishing trip where we caught fish then cooked on an island and ate it too. Tasty and lifetime experience
A small place just on beach. Food is good. We ordered chilli prawn, veg pasta and cheese french fries. All the dishes were good to taste buds. However I was little concerned about hygiene as stray dogs were coming and going inside the shack. Also service was poor, it look like they are not interested in serving. However it’s a OK place to enjoy cool breeze, sound of Arabian sea waves.
