Not at all a bad place. Lot of locals visit here for no frills good local seafood. Hygiene is maintained throughout the restaurant. Maybe a few spots here and there ignored. If you are looking for a classy seafood restaurant to go with your family and all then maybe you should think again. I mean you wont have the comforts of a classy restaurant with regards to seating, plating etc. If you dont mind that then please do visit to get a good dose of Goan seafood. Avoid Mughlai or any North Indian food, I mean seriously who does that ??

The good old Avinay always been a regular at this place whenever I visit Goa. However make sure you check your fish and as the price before you order as these people tend to add any rate for tourists.Must try the Fish thali, crumb fried mussels and kingfish raway fry.

Good seafood restaurant. Restaurant looks average but they the seafood dishes are great. Food was good, some were average. Liked their Recheado Mackerel, Kingfish Fry. Indo-Chinese dishes were average. Didn’t like Bombay Duck. Service was good as well. Pricing of the dishes are okay for what they offer. #foodie #goan #goancuisine

How can I even forget this place!!I was in Goa for holidays with my friends and this small restaurant was the closest to our accommodation and also a cheap one which served some really tasty food. So this was the place of our dinner and lunch for almost 70% of our trip.Well first of all , the ambiance is not all good but if you are really hungry and want to have some good food which is pretty cheap , go to this place. This place is pretty hard to spot as it is very small.Finding parking for the place will be an issue but if your accommodation is within 1or 2 km distance, then just walk here. The service is fast & the staff is a little inexperienced.Coming to the food ( what all we ate here) : 1) Chicken Masala(Bone/Boneless).2) Butter Chicken(Boneless).3) Dal Fry.4) Plain Rice.5) Chapati.1) Chicken Masala(Bone/Boneless) : In the bone chicken masala gravy you will get nice leg piece and other proper chicken pieces. In the boneless gravy you will get the chicken in shredded pieces in the gravy. The quantity of one gravy can satisfy hunger of two people accompanied by rice or roti. The masala flavour of this dish is really good so give it a try if you visit this place.2) Butter Chicken(Boneless) : In this gravy the chicken pieces are shredded in the Butter Chicken gravy. This gravy is ok in taste. It’s more like chicken tikka gravy in taste rather than butter chicken gravy.3) Dal Fry : The dal fry was cooked properly but was a little bland in taste. The quantity of the dal fry is a lot. It can satisfy the hunger of 3 people accompanied by rice or roti.4) Plain Rice : The plain rice was not served fresh. It was not served hot and was cold but it was not bad in quality but just cold.5) Chapati : The chapati was also not that fresh. The chapati had a gone a little dry but like the rice it was not bad in quality.Overall it’s a decent place you are really hungry and want some cheap and good food.

The place to have local Goan seafood. I have been to this place many times for lunch only. It serves the best seafood thali. The king fish thali is something that is a must try.

My family of 3 were searching for a typical goan style sea food near Candolim. I got an info from the receptionist at santana beach resort to have dinner at Avinay which is a budget restaurant and good in taste which proved to be the best in taste and quality. The service and hospitality was so nice that we felt home. We ate prawns and fish which melted in our mouth and the taste took us on cloud 9. A must to visit when in Goa. Thanks Avinay staff. Though it’s a small place it was a great experience and I will sure visit again.
