Very nice place offering Goan cuisine. Must visit if you need a change from eating at Shacks. Had Fish thali (King fish) – Home made style taste and ample amount of serving size.
I was craving for some authentic Goan Fish Thali and we came here hoping for that. The Fish Thali came in a plate covered with dried leaves and brought me back to life. It consisted of Bangda (Mackerel) fry, Tisrya (Clams) Bhaji, Beans and Coconut Bhaji, pickle, salad, Goan Sol Kadhi, Rice and fish curry. The quantity was just right. My husband had Veg Biryani and just look at the picture for the elaborate presentation of this dish. I loved this place. Our server Sandeep (Beckham as he likes to call himself) was warm and friendly! I simply loved this place. I just took half a star away for the Bollywood Music they were playing and the watery handwash (just don’t like that).
Finding this restaurant would be more easier if you type Sumaya (two words together). Good in ambience, no music in background, you get a seating easily, welcoming staff and good seating with candle light.Their menu is upgraded and some dishes are even missing. I even decided what to buy before visiting but to my misfortune the menu had changed.Calamari starter: I don’t remember it’s name but it was batter fried, the calamari was not chewy and tasted good. The mayo given along didn’t help balance the oil fry. Pork Xacuti: Good in taste and can give it a try.Clams curry: Good in taste and a little on the spicier end. Jeera rice: Good A descent meal for a basic price. If you know what to order and how much, this place can be counted as a budget restaurant.Scored it down on:1. The squid was not marinated well. It was coated and fried in a jiffy. Hence the fried batter of the squid just peeled off. I may be wrong but that’s what I felt. 2. There was no music and ambience was not welcoming.
Come here if you are bored of standardized food in most beachside shacks. Lot of traditional goan veg options. Tasty curries. Hoping they add famous goan kala chana dish as well.Their bebinca is one of the best in Goa.
We had a mooga gathi, a kaju curry and a mackeral fry. All the dishes, in addition to the bebinca, were fabulous, getting authentic goan food is not easy in Goa, surprisingly. However, this place is a gem, the curries being flavorful and authentic.
Had the worst fish curry rice, the fish sardines (tarle) which is the cheapest available fish , they gave us was only bones looked liked waste food from previous orders. Don’t ever go to this place guys.
