Ordered a beef steak with eggs and chips. The accompaniments were ok but the steak was just a mushy pulp. Too much meat tenderizer and too many days in the fridge! So dangerous for the stomach! When accosted the owner was very aggressive and refused to take back the dish. So I paid RS. 370/- asked him to pack it and threw it to a stray dog outside the restaurant. I wouldn’t advise anyone to order their beef steak.

This place is one of the traditional old school goan restaurant which serves brilliant & authentic goan food. You will get a Portuguese feel when you enter this restaurant. This place serves fish in stuffed reachhad masala. Also the traditional beef & pork dishes here are to die for. Even if you are not well versed with goan names, you can try the simple prawn curry rice and won’t be disappointed. However, just like any authentic goan food restaurant in Goa, every order you place will atleast take 25-30 mins before it reaches your table. Trust me guys, it’s worth the wait while just sipping some chilled beer!

Pork chops and Cherizo pulav are one of the best in Panjim. If you’re looking for a non fancy, old school ambience ad environment with authentic Goan cuisine @ compelling rates.. this is the place to be and eat.

Looking for a typical old Goan Bar and Restaurant in Panaji – go to Godinho’s. Basic and no frills – friendly service with food that you can’t go wrong with. The Beef, Pork, Fish all are excellent – day’s fresh catch. Suggested – Squid Rechado and Goan Sausage Fry as starters with the drinks. Followed by a choice of Kingfish Masala Fry, Bangda (Mackerel) Rawa Fry, Prawn Balchao, Chilly Beef and, of course, Pork Vindaloo (specify spice level). Try with the local Poee or Poi (Bread). Wrap it up with Rice and Fish Curry.

The rawa fried prawns were excellent. Mr. Godinho had some tasty choriz pao made for me as well, they make their own Goa sausages btw. I had a glass of chilled port with my meal. It was a great lunch and I will be back when I return to Goa.

Pork Balchao is my favourite at this place. The food is very tasty, in fact better than some of the other goan restaurants in Panjim, however the service is very very slow. Need to improve with quickness.

Perhaps I got unlucky with my food, or perhaps Godinho Bar & Restaurant is an icon basking in past glory — I suspect it is more of the latter.Based mostly on reviews I was keen to try the place but came away unimpressed/disappointed. I ordered a Beef Onion Steak with Egg & Chips. I got my daily salt intake times two with that steak. The place seems run-down. LOUD dance music blares unnecessarily in a near-empty room. The single waiter seems uninterested – messes up the lime-soda. Despite the lack of diners, service takes ages. And the product is average. Will not be returning.
