Thali is great with King Fish, Chicken dish, prawns curry and crab masala. good portions and good quality (eaten by my family) 4.5/5I ate Egg Biryani – Trust me one of the most flavored biryani – 4.5/5Must visit place and the ambience is great!
Pan Aroma located in Panjim, is a part of Hotel Neptune. The second outlet is located in Ponda. Don’t be deceived by the approach towards the restaurant from outside the hotel, you will definitely love the food served here. Nice ambience, well mannered staff and delicious food; all in all, a perfect package. We tried the Tambdi Roza (cocktail), Crispy Chicken Stick in Coriander Sauce, Stuffed Crabs and Squids, Chicken in Tender Coconut (Red Gravy), Chicken Khaiber and Caramel Pudding. The cocktail was a mix of tambdi roza, kokum syrup, 7up and cashew feni. Although the feni was slightly overpowering, we loved the flavor of the cocktail. The added salt elevated it even more. The Crispy Chicken starter is a must try. Chicken strips marinated in a spicy batter and deep fried until crispy. These strips were served on satay sticks and topped with a delectable coriander sauce. The dish was cooked perfectly and the flavors were on point.A medium sized crab stuffed with well done crab meat, onion, capsicum and some chillies giving it the perfect hit of spice. The stuffed crabs came with an accompaniment of french fries and featured 3 flavors: Indian, Goan and Chinese.Stuffed Squids are a popular dish in Goa and here we were served 6 medium sized squids packed with a delicious and well seasoned prawns kheema, tossed in a spicy recheado masala. Squids can get rubbery if overcooked, but it was great to see that the cooking was on point.Serving a gravy dish in a tender coconut, a unique concept that we really liked. The dish is available in both, red and green gravy. The gravy had a spicy tomato-onion base and the chicken pieces were tender. Although the dish was spicy, it did not overpower the other flavors. The Chicken Khaiber was also unique and again, we really liked it. The chicken was done in 2 ways: roasted pieces and kheema. Just like the previous dish, the chicken pieces were tender and the gravy had a tomato-onion-cashew paste base. Now you may think that this dish must’ve been quite heavy, but it really wasn’t. It was mildly flavored and tasted amazing. We liked the presentation of the pudding but felt that the caramel sauce was a little too bitter.
