Tataki has been on my go to places since it was launched. But according to me it hasn’t lived up to the hype. The ambience is too dark making it feel more like a nightclub than a fine dine restaurant. It was very difficult to get the attention of a server every time we wanted to order for something. The drinks were pretty average while the food too wasn’t as impressive as we thought it would be. There were a lot of complex flavors in the sushi making it one of my favorite in Goa. The one dish I didn’t quite like was the crab custard which was too rich for my liking. Being a fine dine the price is understandably high.
Tataki certainly does justice to its title – Immersive Asian Dining. We ordered a veg sushi platter and Phad Thai. None was short of being perfect. Can’t fret about the slow service as the place was packed. Overall had a great time here and will surely come back to try the other sushis.
Beautiful inside and out. Tataki stands out at the prime location in panjim (walking distance from the bustand, opposite DTR) in a beautiful Urban Portuguese style building. It’s service deserves a gold star and it’s lovely to see the owner taking such good care of his guests. The array of cocktails is unique and we did try quite a few, the feni cocktail and black color gin based cocktail stood out graciously. The ambience is good, kuddos to achieving great lighting. The food is very tasty, portions are small as one would expect in a place like this. The prawn sushi, chicken dumpling, Kung Pao chicken were very good. My company loved the prawn pudding and recommend it greatly. It is heavy on the pocket & one should be ready to Shell out at least 1k for the wine & dine. Also it’s bathroom has a great view of atal sethu, sounds wierd when you read it, but the view is awesome.
The place is over the top. The menu is normal and they focus is on certain ingredients and the decor of the dish rather than the whole dish itself. I actually found the menu confusing and there was no connection between the courses. The prices are ok and not too expensive. The experience was rather mediocre.
