This being our first trip post our baby we truly feel we made the right choice by booking at Taj Aguada !The food is as good as it can get, we ate many meals at Kokum during our stay , there is no doubt that the chefs are the best here and are fabulous cooks !! The staff is so cordial and helpful . Do look out for Vivek , he has been there since 1991 – such a wonderful man to make your eating experience a good one.Chef Unnikrishnan helped to prepare such good meals for our infant , he loved it ! Such a gentle person and kept everything in mind to ensure the infant gets a good meal 🙂 Chef Mrutyunjaya gave us a special treat of local avacados , fantastic person with so much information , always ready to look after you with a smile ! Everyone was so friendly helpful and approachable , we are enjoying being here and look forward to coming here often !
The food here is delicious. Try the chicken satay to start with and the oriental menu is definitely worth it. This place changed my opinion of Thai Green Curry for the better. For dessert, the creme brulee is certainly one of the better ones in Goa. However, what adds that spark is definitely the service. The staff goes beyond to ensure your comfortable and well taken care off.
It’s would be unfair to judge Taj at same level as an open roof restaurant. Higher the value asked, higher shall be expectations. So I shall be little harsh.Food- breakfast is good as you are offered variety, but you need to know what’s fresh. South Indian cuisine is always fresh. Amazing texture on chutney and lentils are to kill for. Spices are a bit tonned down to suit expacts. North Indian food could be much better. Judging from the fact that many customers visit from Gujarat, North Indian food could be much better. Much of it is repeated if not consumed. The staleness can be easily identified by smell and hardened texture. This is something you don’t expect from a top hotel. Surprisingly, the desserts are no better either. Muffins are dry and hard. Seems that they are not consumed enough and served for many days. But few things are great. Apart from South Indian cuisine, drinks are great. Milkshakes are amazing and so is filter coffee.Servicing is great, as expected. Being right next to the beach, ambience couldn’t be better.3 stars for food, and 5 for servicing and ambience.
We stayed in this hotel and had breakfast in Kokum. The breakfast menu was great and good quality was excellent. My favorites:Chicken in red sauceFrench toastChocolate croissantChicken & pork sausagePohaFish in lemon sauceBreadsMasala cheese omletteThe service was excellent. You get the bay and pool view if you Sit outside and eat.
Had dinner buffet here during our stay at Taj Fort Aguada. Taste was good but not excellent. Service was also good but have experienced better service at few other Taj restaurants. Breakfast buffet was also average. They can definitely improve on the food.Taj has much better restaurants in other properties across India.
As such you expect quite a similar experience at any five star Hotel’s restaurant, but this one is nicely done in terms of interiors. Looks very classy. Their Indian food spread is decent. The unfortunate part is that we found Stone piece in the vegetable and the serving staff’s first reaction was it can’t be Us. I mean he kind of wanted me to take the responsibility. Nothing else to talk about. This place can be avoided even if you are staying in Taj property.
Slow service, food not very good, very expensive. We spent 10,000 rupees for breakfast for 5 people and we did not order a lot of food. Nice views and ambiance, but wouldn’t recommend the food.
