My tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best.’If the above quote is suitable for you, then you must try at moti mahal at Vadodara. its a veg bonanza because it’s a pure veg restaurant, so all the vegetarians this is a lovely treat for you. The ambiance is one of the best I have seen, it is full of classy and antique artifacts and they have utilized small space brilliantly.Pirates of Hunger recommendation :Veg Shorba SoupBharvwan Tandoori AlooBhatti ka KababDahi Khasta KababMethi Matar MalaiDaal Makhani (its a mild taste not spicy)Pudina ParathaTo start with Soup I loved its veg shorba, its rich with veggies. It is very thick and full of flavors. Bhatti ka kabab and Dahi khasta kabab are awesome but if you ask that starter which steals the show its Bharvwan Tandoori Aloo. The feeling is truly delicious and aloo are properly cooked and covered with spice. It is the best starter in which is different from barbeque panner and hara-bhara kabab. In the main course I enjoyed Mathi Matar Malai it is very yummy and creamy. The Daal makhani was also nice, it is not spicy as they serve in different restaurants at Vadodara, it is just mild and tasty, so definitely if you are looking for a spicy thing it is not for you.The only let down is they have very few continental options, but I talked to the management and they told me they are going to start it soon. (we initially give it 4 starts recognizing it is multicuisine but actually they have mentioned North Indian so changing it to 5 stars)So all in all a classy ambiance and tempting taste make this restaurant highly recommended.
I had one of the best dining experience at the much loved Moti Mahal Restaurant.Beginning with the ambience, it was light, white and bright. The use of white marble, blue sofa set, green traditional ceiling with beautiful Chandeliers, yellow carpet and the wooden sofa in the entrance made the place aesthetically beautiful.Coming to the food, the place serves excellent North Indian Cuisine. Everything from starters to desserts is pleasing to eyes and delighting to stomach..Everything I tried-Mocktail- The BeachSoup- Veg ShorbaStarter- Cheese Kumbh (Mushroom)Bharwan tandoori alooBhatti ka paneerDahi khasta kebabMain course- Paneer Tikka MasalaMethi Malai ButterDal MakhaniExotic Veg Mataka BiryaniDessert- Gulab JamunIce Cream.Must Try- Veg Shorba Soup, Cheese Kumbh, Dal Makhani and Exotic Veg Mataka Biryani.
The one reason that pulled us to Moti Mahal is definitely the ambience, which is perfect for a dinner date. Situated at Race Course with ample parking space, spotting the place is easy. Very welcoming and polite staff greeted us with a pani puri shot. We ordered Matka biriyani flavoured with Mushroom tikka, Plain Nan, And Soya Kheema Kumbh Masala. The Nan was on the crispier side. The Matka Biriyani was a feat the eye and was strongly flavoured with spices. Served with cucumber raita, it was quiet filling for two, though a little over priced. The Kheema masala was totally different and would definitely go well with any of the Indian breads. The quantity of the curry was decent and worth the money. Definitely a place to visit for the ambience, taste and service!
We visited @motimahal_vadodaraa , a place with historic roots and everlasting recipes. The place itself has taken lots of cues of our modern past. From artifacts and photographs of known political entities. It gives an idea how the name Moti Mahal is carved. Their food is equally glorious to the name…For the appetizers, we had soups, being CHINESE MANCHOW and TIBETAN THUKPA, Both amazing on their own flavors, one being sharp and other being subtle while still retaining the flavor and aroma. Along with them we had TANDOORI MOMOS and CIGAR ROLLS, rolls were served with a specific sauce, which I liked a lot, momos on the other hand were just great! They’re a must try!..In the main course we had plenty of great delicacies, including their almost a century old recipe of DAL MAKHANI, their own made BUTTER GRAVY, a new age fusion dish MATKA PANEER TIKKA. Let me tell you, Matka Paneer Tikka is absolutely gorgeous. It is similar to lasagna but with Indian ingredients. Their Daal is also equally amazing, it’s great to have them retained their original flavor even after so long! The gravy has a pungent taste of tomatoes and aftertaste of butter. It was perfectly complimented by the KHASTA ROTI we had. While Dal and KHURMI NAAN tasted great together. Their CHUR CHUR PARATHA are incredible! Do try them!..Later we tried their Matka Biryani (Exotic vegetables variant). If you like rice with rich aroma of spices and flavors of vegetables, you have it here. With the course, we had some A-mazing mocktails, being VIRGIN SANGRIA, THE BEACH and ELECTRIC SMASH. They all are just too good!!! (Electric smash is my favorite from them)..In the dessert we had MATKA PHIRNI WITH GULABJAMUN, the recipe originated in Peshawar. And trust me, you need to try it!And they also served us panipuri shots as complementary dish…Overall, Moti Mahal is a fun to visit place with historic recipes and new age versions of well preserved concoctions, at a premium tag. Do visit it!
Ambience was great. It was for lunch on a regular day so almost the restaurant was empty. Hence the service was quick and friendly.Loved the starters. But we were 6. So quantity was a little less to accommodate. The watermelon mojito was nice. Loved cheese butter masala- normally spicy and cheese naan were okay.Overall a good experience
