One of the best budget friendly restaurants for relishing North Indian food.Offers variety of yummy delicacies, having a delicious spread of options. They make the food customized as per your choice of palate.
Though status has been a part of the city for quite a long time, it was my first visit to the restaurant and let me start off by saying what a meal. We visited status with a bunch of friends and it was such nice warm hospitality and food, definitely made the night memorable.Loved the newly done interiors, it’s chic comfort; and they have a sliding door opening up to the terrace with a view.We started off our night with bruschetta (loved loved loved the tangy salsa they served up along with it. Definitely had me reaching for more. Also the bruschetta was completely loaded and tasted quite nice), and the Mexican cheese balls. For the mains, we had the mix sauce pasta (tossed up in a tangy flavourful bunch of sauces and veggies, had us ordering the dish for a second time), the Mexican sizzler (mexican rice served up along with veggies and a side sauce, tasted quite good too), the hong kong noodles (these had me surprised as it was the typical roadside chinese flavoured noodles served up in a restaurant and I mean it as the nicest compliment, I truly loved it) and the pizza (could be given a miss).Ending the dinner on the sweetest note possible, we had the gulab jamuns (hot and sweet, tasted gooood) AND the HIGHLIGHT of an already memorable evening, the fried ice cream (cold ice cream fried in a coated layer of coconut and topped with chocolate sauce)! I always wanted to have it ever since I watched it first on MasterChef Australia and damn did it live up to its expectations. If you’re ever in its vicinity, you’ve got to at least try the fried ice cream. (Thank me later wink wink).
The dinner scene was sorted when we visited the status restaurant and banquet. We had Mexican food and it was pretty good!! I liked the food there. And, when friends are around to talk and yap, everything feels better. In photo:Mexican chilli bean soupBruschetta & Mexican cheese balls for startersHong Kong noodles (I know it’s not Mexican), but we just wanted to have itMix sauce pasta, Mexican sizzler & PizzasGulab jamun & fried ice creamRecommended? Oh yes, definitelyAmbiance: was good. Sine it was a working day we found some silence as not many were around! The soup tasted delicious with crisp nacho chips. It’s consistency was a little thick but it tasted yummy. Had ample amount of beans in it. I thought the bruschetta was okay, nothing different or extraordinary. The Mexican cheese balls were soft and cheesy and the mayo dip and salsa sauce served alongside were good. The cheese balls went well with salsa sauce. I loved the salsa, tasted quite good. The Hong Kong noodles were really good. Perfectly spicy and aptly garlicky. Garlic was not overpowering the taste of noodles. Oh and lemme tell you, I loved the pasta. I was surprised with the burst of various flavours when I put a spoonful in my mouth. It was so delicious we repeated the order. Must try, don’t miss it. The sizzler was good. The Mexican rice and roasted vegetables complimented each other. But I found the curry in rice a tad bit less as the rice was a li’l bit dry. But taste was any which ways good. The pizza was just okay. But desserts were really yummy. The gulab jamun was soft and melt in the mouth. I just loved them. The hero of our meal was fried ice cream. Crispy outside and well ice creamy inside!! The outer layer was made of desiccated coconut and refined flour. It was crispy to eat but soft to dig in. And the chocolate sauce drizzled over the ice cream completed the sinful taste. We left with a satiated tummy form good food and heart full of love from friends!! I loved how my evening went by.Go give it a try and lemme know how it was!!
