Location is spot on, the entrance looks inviting and the ambiance is welcoming. The placement of tables do feel a bit cramped but isn’t much different from other cafes. The bathroom stinks and could use more regular cleaning and apart from the weird placement of the kitchen (it’s upstairs) there isn’t much to talk about except perhaps the playlist – it features popular hindi pop but given the menu and the ambiance maybe a few international hits could be added to the list. The good:The food is yum. It felt fresh and the taste was spot on. Our review is based on the Pesto Penne Pasta & the Margherita Pizza. The pizza in fact looked exactly like the one shown in the menu which is praiseworthy. The pesto was not creamy as is usually the case with Ahmedabad cafés and was a welcome change. Both had a distinctive taste and the pasta in particular was a large portion. Something to keep in mind while ordering. We also had a mix berry smoothie which was refreshing and a lovely accompaniment to our meal. The bad:We had ordered a Burrito Samosa which is a starter and which wasn’t served till the end of our meal and when we asked them to cancel it given that we were through with both our mains, things started becoming ugly. The waiter started becoming defensive and rude – Apparently Pizzas & pastas were supposed to be starters and as we hadn’t yet ordered our mains so it was perfectly alright that the dish wasn’t served yet. We had also ordered a hot chocolate at the start of our meal which wasn’t processed and the waiter refused to accept it.The ugly:We had to repeatedly ask for forks, glasses and refill for the water on our table which were all provided after much delay as if doing us a favour. The attitude of the waiter was very bad especially post the above incident. After asking for the bill several times, the waiter told us that there was some issue with the system and the bill could not be generated. We understand technology failures and asked for at least a handwritten bill with the breakup which wasn’t provided. Instead he came back with just a figure and asked us to pay, We paid the amount and asked for the breakup as the amount didn’t seem to tally, to which we were signalled to go to the billing counter. To our surprise we found that we had been charged for the cancelled item, something the waiter should have been aware of. Best case scenario it was sheer negligence and something not expected of a new restaurant wanting to build up its reputation. It’s sad that a near perfect experience with the food had such a bitter aftertaste because of the staff. Hope there is a proper training procedure going forward and checks to ensure that the customer doesn’t suffer for issues easily avoided. We really don’t want to avoid what has the potential to be one of our favourite hangout just because we don’t feel welcomed by the staff.

One can not think well, love well and eveb sleep well if one has not ate well. Whenever we plan to dine out side, we always look for a perfect fine dine place which is located at a prime location and having a fan tastic ambiance. Recently we visited a place which named very unique, THE CAFE GUSTO. As we entered the cafe, we found it very clean, neat and fantastic. Perfect walls, perfect sitting, perfect crockery, perfect food and perfect service by the perfect staff. A second I thought the name should be perfect cafe!!First, know the meaning of name, GUSTO : It’s an italian word, which means TASTE, TASTY, or TASTIER. As per the name, they are serving tastier food than the other places. They have tried all the different concepts in all dishes.1) Gujarati Sabji : In any restaurant or cafes, whenever you order sabji, they do serve the ready sabji on your table. But, here its something different. They come with all the ingrediants and make the sabji on your table. I was shocked by seeing the way they made sabji on table, but later on when I tasted it, it was drooling, delicious and lip smacking!!Why this sabji is named as Gujarati Sabji, It is having 5 main ingridiants from all over gujarat.1.Ghee from Anand.2.Bhajiya from Dakor.3.Sing (pea nuts) from bharuch.4.Gathiya from Bhavnagar.5.Dabeli Masala from Kutchh.2) Chocolate Cloud : Everyone has listened about live ice cream, tava ice cream! Have you listened about ice cream on your table? They come with creame, nitrogen box, dry ice, toppings and all and even they make icecream on your table. And than they do garnish that by whichever toppings you need. It costs 500/- but it was worth and almost 3 people can be served in one ice cream.3) Makeyown Salad : This is the most special, and unique concept in ahmedabad. They do plant different salad on wall and do give the customer a chabce to select whichever leaves you want to put in your salad. Than they come up with the leaf and all the spices and toppings on your table and serves that on your table. So, basically this place came up with totally different concept which is serving and making on table! All the dishes were tastes amazing. Just simple place with a heart touching ambiance is always stays on top for us. Cafe Gusto is a brand new cafe in vastrapur which has amazing ambience. The food menu is very innovative. Specially it’s beverage section is too good with amazing options. They serve wide range of pasta, pizza, burgers, shakes, mocktails, Indian fusion dishes & desserts. They serve many dishes live on the table. They also make your salad live on your table which is pretty good. Presentation of all the dishes is so beautiful as well. I recommended __1) Red velvet shake.2) Mix berry smoothie.3) Hindustani sabzi (Different ingredients from India are mixed live with gravy).4) Loaded Nachos.5) cheese bhuna masala combo (prepared with blowtorch).*Their churros are avoidable. The good part is that they don’t use syrup/ artificial sweeteners in the shakes. Instead they use fresh fruits and purées which makes them healthy.
