Loved the churros as the texture was perfect. Soft inside and crispy crumbly outside. Went well with the provided chocolate dip. Must have!Flatbread topped with cheese and eggplant tasted excellent. The base was fresh and soft. It had a tangy taste which i loved the mostOverall the cafe lives up to expectations. It’s quite a drive from the city but the experience is worth every minute. Right from the point you jump out of your car, the peaceful surroundings calm you down and the food just amps you right back. A must visit!
Pintxo (pronounced: peen-cho) is a beautiful Spanish cuisine restaurant located at 32nd Avenue. The place offers wonderful ambience with beautiful décor along with outside seating where one can enjoy delicious food with a view of 32nd Avenue lawns. I went out with a friend on a Sunday afternoon and the amazing weather forced me to opt for a table outside. The staff was polite and the head chef explained the dishes in detail and made recommendations which eased our cognitive load of choosing what to eat. Since, Pintxo is a Tapas bar, we decided to try as many tapas as we could. We started with stuffed mushroom tapas, which were mushrooms stuffed with creamy cheese baked to perfection, which was really tasty and felt really smooth. The dish is served in the same dish it is baked to keep the original look and flavours intact. Highly recommended! Then we tried Fiery potatoes which were served with Romesco sauce. The chef informed us that all their sauces were made inhouse. It was like a Spanish version of aloo chaat. We also tried really soft beetroot cake tapas made by beetroot mixed with goat cheese. I’d highly recommend this one as I’ve never tasted anything so yum with beetroot in it. Must have !If you’re into sea food like me, you must try their prawns with garlic sauce. The prawns were dipped in garlic sauce and even though the food got cold quickly due to the weather, the prawns still had their delicious taste. The subtle flavour of the garlic with herbs was savoured. Must have !Chicken Pintxo : grilled chicken skewers served with capsicum and a in house dip on the side. The chicken would have been preferred if more tender, however the flavours made up for that !Another tapas option is the Empanadas, which is gujiya shaped and stuffed with spinach and served with their in-house egg plant mayo sauce. A unique dish to try. Considering Spanish cuisine doesn’t have spices, this dish has a plain flavour of spinach and can be savoured by those who like eggplant mayo. Another favorite item from the menu is Chorizo sausages which they prepare in-house. It’s hard to describe how delicious it is with the herbs in the handmade sausage that had the perfect flavour to savour ! Highly recommended! For drinks, we had sex on the beach and a tangy non-alcoholic drink called Tamarind Flame. The tamarind flame had a lovely presentation and the tangy flavour of tamarind, sex on the beach was a blend of juices with vodka and a good recommendation for those who like alcohol in their drinks but do not like the flavour of alcohol to over power the drink. We also ordered for pork sliders which were pulled pork sliders served with cheese slices and barbeque sauce. It was loaded with pork and very filling. The chef recommended pickled eggplant flat bread, I was skeptical at first because of the eggplant but we ordered it anyway. I have never tasted anything like it with eggplants in it. If you’re a vegetarian, I’ll definitely recommend trying this mix of pickled eggplants, pesto sauce and goat cheese. You wouldn’t get the original flavour of eggplant but of the pickled version that tasted really good with the pesto sauce. Must have !There wasn’t enough space left for the desserts but my meal is not complete without something sweet. So we ordered some churros paired with chocolate sauce. I would have preferred if they were a little lesser on the sweetness. However, they marked a good end to my lavish meal.Pintxo is overall a great place to hangout and it’s not heavy on the pocket. I’d surely go again and try more things next time.
Pintexo is nothing less than an absolutely amazing place to have a glass of wine along with scrumptious food. Having absolutely beautiful and classic decor, the place offers variety of delicious delicacies along with some amazing drinks. We started our lunch with white wine sangria followed by butter garlic prawns and spicy chicken wings which were absolutely lip smacking and tasted very good.Next were, spaghetti bologenese and Chicken flatbread which were also very delicious. I absolutely loved all the dishes, specially butter garlic prawns and spaghetti. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone as it is a must visit place.
