I think that this is the single worst eating experience I have had in Gurgaon. The food was stale, and I got sick from eating it. And I mean severe reaction just off an egg and rice (which, it should be obvious from the review I’m not allergic to). I think it’s safe to say if you value money or your health, you can avoid this place. Or you know, bring people you hate here and sip on some water as you watch them fall ill 😉
One of the priciest Japanese restaurants in Gurgaon. Servings are small, and the menu is quite limited. The interiors are beautiful, but they allow smoking, which totally killed my experience here.
This place served a heart warming meal in one of the contemporary style tatami rooms. With rain pouring over large windows in the room, while you sip on some hot miso soup/ dashi – everything seemed just perfect. Ordered a pork katsu curry and udon noodles with prawn tempura. Katsu dish (that came with miso soup) was simply superb with just a little less curry than we’d like, left us wanting more. Udon noodle broth (miso I guess) was fragrant and soothing for the weather, was topped with a fried vegetable cake, sea weed and a slightly soggy prawn tempura. Both dishes were served with sweet potato and mayo onion salad. Definitely going back there for more.
Looking for a light lunch around MG Road area Zomato showed a Japanese place very near to my office. I went for a quick and light lunch alone at Komachi located on the 3rd floor of MGF Plaza Mall near IFFCO Chowk. My review for the lunch is as below:Ambiance: The restaurant is small but nicely decorated; on entering the place you have a small Bar on the right with a screen showing Japanese Channel, during my lunch a SUMO match was on. The seats are made in such a way that privacy is maintained due to the partitions between tables. On the left side they also have traditional sitting on the floor for bigger groups, these tables are completely covered thus giving complete privacy to the guests sitting here. The place definitely gives the vibe of an authentic Japanese restaurant. Though I found the place to be a bit dark, it could have been better if they have more sunlight in the place. The place was filled with Japanese people I was not able to find any local people there; I think is that was because the mall itself is quite low footfall one.Service: The staff greets you in Japanese when you enter and also when you leave, which is a nice thing as it adds to the experience. On entering I was in front of a staff member who helped me with my table and came back with the menu to take my order. The menu has English translation as well for people like me to understand the dishes. The staff is polite and helpful; their suggestion for the meal was bang on for me.Food: On suggestion from the staff I ordered a set meal Katsu Don which was Sticky rice topped with egg and pork it came with a small but tasty salad, some pickle and an appetizer which I think was sweet potato and also miso soup. The food was tasty and the meal quantity was enough to fill my stomach. I really liked the salad and the soup. The main dish became better after adding some soy sauce and pinch of chilies, but was still quite average.Cost: My meal for one cost to me was 600 INR which was decent not too expensive when you compare it to other places serving the same cuisine. Overall the experience was good and the food tasty the place is not too expensive as well. Definitely a try if you are in the neighborhood.
Small, homely and cute Japanese restaurant, with a small menu – half Japanese and half English (with some translations inconsistently). Food is reasonable and so is service and ambiance. Can be better; but no complaints.
Whatever you will order, every dish is taste at every time. And I liked hotpot which they serve in every winter in Japanese style..The restaurant’s decor is tastefully done, the private rooms ups the ante in terms of Japanese decor. foodieediva.wordpress.com
