I was in Sector 31 market for the first time with a friend when I noticed this place ‘Bombay Meri Jaan’. I could not stop myself from visiting this place since vada pavs are my jaan. Had 2 vada pavs with the perfectly fried & salted green chillies and fell in love with them instantly. The taste was so authentic. Was also told that their chefs are from Maharashtra only and their masalas also come directly from there. And I knew I would be visiting this place very soon which I did. This time I had pav bhaji with the vada pav. Pavs were soft and buttery. The bhaji also tasted amazing with the balanced flavour of masalas. One of the best vada pavs and pav bhaji I have had. In addition they have this basic basement seating with the cool posters on the wall giving a Mumbaikar vibe. The menu has been kept small and the items are fairly priced. Would surely visit again to taste tawa pulao and misal pav.
This newly opened small cafe in sector 31 is a must tryy if you are looking for an amazing vada pav!! They have this really small menu but everything is so good and the prices are reasonable too!!!
I might not know much about “authentic” Mumbaiya food, but I do know good food when I eat it. Bombay Meri Jaan stands apart because of it’s limited menu (they plan to add a few more options soon), and no-fuss “street-food” setup. As for the food, I’ve never been a fan of Pao Bhaji, but today I had the smoothest, most delicious and buttery version ever. The Vada Pao was lovely, with a really soft Pao which I’m told is from Bombay, as are the spices used in cooking everything here. Bun Maska was equally good and it being a rainy day went well with the chai. Moreover, the cooks/chefs are Maharashtrian locals and thus bring about some more authenticity to the flavours. I’m always for establishments that break the mould and are brave enough to try something different, and Bombay Meri Jaan is exactly that.
