This place doubles up as a the Canteen for the Specialist Hospital and also as a restaurant for anyone who wants to walk in.My wife and I got to try the food here when we went for a health check-up to the hospital, after drawing the fasting blood sample you get to have breakfast here as part of the package.We found the quality and tatse of the dishes to be surprisingly good. Loved the Pongal, vada, idli and also coffee. Only challenge is if a hospital canteen will ever be my go to place for food!?

Decent meals are available here. For breakfast, I had a cup of Coffee and Poori Bhaji. The coffee was exceptionally good. Pooro Bhaji was fresh and hot, but the Bhaji ended up being a potato curry. For lunch, I had Chicken Fried Rice. The rice was good with some great ingredients and enough pieces of chicken however, the quantity was too much and it ended up being very dry to the throat. I suggest you’ll to reduce the quality and add a little curry as food must not go to waste.
Specialist Restaurant is a part Specialist hospital group and is above the Specialist pharmacy. Primarily it caters to the needs of patients and their visitors but the restaurant is open to all. The place is hygenic and not busy. The Service is quick and staff is courteous. Mostly their menu keeps changing and subject to availability. Quantity is reasonable, we had chapati today which was served with dal and sabji. Dal was thick and sabji’s taste was good. Roti was soft and fluffy. Price is really reasonable. Do not expect spicy food here.
Its not a place you would normally visit unless you are at the adjoining hospital. The fresh juices and really good. The food dished out is average and not something you would write home about but good for the hospital environment. diningtales.com
