Their Uttara kannada meals is a must try
I visited this place for breakfast and had benne masala dosa. This costs 45/- and patiently waited for the dosa to be served. When I got the dosa, I was literally shocked to see the amount of aloo that was given along with it. It was not more than a small spoon of it. I checked if this is the quantity that he gives and he nodded acknowledging the same. He asked me to have it with chutney if need be, Only two bites of dosa & aloo were done. Any other benne dosa hotel will give more aloo and some more as a refill if it gets over. Besides, the tables were not kept properly and could see lots of stains which wasn’t cleaned. Not a good experience. Then had Pulav which tasted a bit like Tomato rice. It was a mix of tomato rice and pulav. It was served with Raita and chutney will be given if requested or can be taken if it’s kept on the slab. The quality of the rice used in pulav reminds me of the depot rice or maybe slightly better than that. I wouldn’t visit this place again. One will not regret if this place is missed.
Rasadoutana – Owned by same entity which operates Shree Guru Kottureshwara Davanagere Benne Dose (NR Colony). They have service and as well as Self -Service options. The menu options are very good and exhaustive. They serve South Indian Breakfast items till Noon, then meals Till 4 PM, North & Chinese Items will start from 7 PM. Service is OK, there is scope for improvement on the servicing side. Taste is good, Not too heavy on pocket. Hygiene is good. We Tried Gobi Manchurian, Roti, Paneer Curry, Fried Rice, Gobi was bit soggy, can be made crisp and dry. Roti & Paneer curry were tasty, Fried rice was also good. Satisfied with the quantity of the food. One thing which caught my attention was the seating arrangement made on one side of the restaurant which has view of the busy NR Colony Main road. Cards/Digital Payments were not accepted, when we visited. They are located next to famous Davanagere Benne Dose outlet located at NR Colony.
