Spice is a multi cuisine restaurant with a versatile range of cuisines and their unique delicacies. It has an amazing food menu.Things I tried: French fries: I am French fries fan which led me into trying it and it didn’t disappoint. It was great and tasted amazing.Chicken chilly: It was quite good. It had right combination of the perfect spices.Veg manchow soup: It had a nice mild spicy taste which was good.Chicken fried rice: My personal favourite from their menu.
Been here once during a visit to Mangalore weeks before. Aloo Paratha and Tea was their items which I tried and my friend with me had Poori Bhaji. Nothing bad to complain and nothing too good to applaud. Was an average experience.
Ordered Gajjar halwa today. tasted like chopped carrots with some oil and sugar. Very poor taste.
Spent a month in Mangalore, while staying in the Saffron hotel. While it’s a decent neat hotel, has a kitchen that you wouldn’t beleive. My pallete and taste buds were in a joy ride for the complete time i was there. Everything i tried, from Chicken Sukka, Anjal Fish Tandoori, Fish Curry to Mutton Biryani was something that you would expect from a big commercial kitchen, and satisfied your cravings both in terms of taste and presentation. Thumbs up from me.
We have been to Mangalore recently and stayed in saffron hotel. One of the things we started with was ordering dinner. We ordered dal tadka, roti and hara bhara kabab. The dal was south Indian version of arhar dal just OK and hara bhara kabab was also just OK nothing special. Then we had the chance to have buffet breakfast. We tried lot of items so will rate them as below1st dayAllu parantha – 3/5Upma – 4/5Aloo bonda – 2.5/5Tea – 2/5Juice – 1/52nd dayPoori bhaaji – 3/5Idly sambhar 3.5/5Coffee – 2/5Tea – 2/5Juice – 1/5The breakfast buffet spread was good with good options. They could have done better with tea and coffee
Have dined at Spice quite a few times while staying at The Saffron while visiting Mangalore, along with having their buffet breakfast. While the buffet breakfast is fairly average, more or less the same as it is for most 3/4 star hotels, a dish which particularly stood out for me during à la carte dinner is their Chicken Stroganoff amongst an array of a dozen other vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. It is the best Chicken Stroganoff I’ve had till date. The food is decent, prices fairly reasonable, the interiors have been redone a couple of years back and ambience is good too.
