  This place is small but the food is good. The fish fries are really good, the prawns biriyani was something different. The chilli chicken was really good!

  The Kori Rotti from Karavali Lunch home literally takes me back home, Mangalore. The perfectly blemished spices tickles your tastes buds. Cant wait to try out more from this place

  Was pretty hungry after a few hours of walking around the shops and Zomato said there is a Karavali restaurant around. It was barely a couple of hundred meters so decided to give it a try.This is a typical budget eatery that one can step in, eat (with strangers next to you) and step out. So the ambience is just the chairs and the tables.We ordered for a chicken meal, chapattis, chicken sukka and prawn masala.The chicken meal came with two varieties of chicken. A sukka and a tangy curry. It also a vegetable sabji and rasam/sambar. The meal was quite nice.Chapattis were a bit hard and the chicken sukka was pretty ok. The prawn was done well. In fact the prawns were cooked perfectly and was probably the best I have eaten in a budget restaurant like this one.The chicken dishes had chicken shredded. Not sure if it was overcooked.Service was quick and for about 450 rupees, absolute value for money. Places like these thrive for their simplicity, affordability and authentic food. I wish the chapattis were softer and chicken had some authentic sukka flavor to it. A 3.5 rating would be fair but Zomato doesnt allow it !

  We went to Karavali Lunch Home after some shopping at Chickpet. The food was really good. Definitely not a fine dining place but one for good fresh seafood.The decor is not great, the furniture and the interiora are old and may need some renovation. But most people visit here for the historic food and not for the decor or ambience, although a quick change of furniture and decor maybe overdue.The staff is good. The service is quick and efficient. We ordered anjal masala fry, prawns sukka and lady fish rava fry along with rice and neer dosa. Personally I would have liked the masala fry masala to have a little more time kick. The prawns sukka and kane rava fry was excellent. If you love fish, you must try this place. It’s only second to Giri Manja’s Mangalore when it comes to taste and freshness.We stuck to seafood although they have a lot of chicken delicacies on their menu. Will definitely try chicken during my next visit.Note:- Come prepared with cash as they do not accept any other mode of payment as of 13/02/2019.

  The restaurant is right next to my place. The staff is friendly and the service is also good. Peace enough on the main roads. One thing to suggest maintain cleanliness.

  Food here is pretty good. I had anjal fish masala fry with neer dosa and prawn sukka which were nice! I tried squid for the first time and turned out to be quite amazing. It’s a small place in majestic, but if you are fond of certain kind of seafood, you should go here at least once. Worth trying!

  Only few hotels with non veg dining at Chickpet area, reasonable rate And OK food, famous for its fish dishes , although you will find somewhat crowded for dining here but very little options you have in this area
