It is a simple and cute joint. Only 12-15 people can fit at a time. It gets over crowded quickly as there is no place to sit. Coming to our order, We ordered 1 Gala thalis, Misal Pav, Sabudana Vada, 3 Lassis. 1 Veg Gala thalis, was good in size and was tasty with 3 chapathys ,2 curries, rasam, Solkadi, Papad, Kadi and Sweet which is around 160/- each.Sabudana wada was tasty, 2 big pieces with Yoghurt and Green Chutney(we asked for it).Misal pav was good (wud have been lil hotter) Batata wada, wow.. Do not think, just order.Lassis were good in size and taste.A lil more space and a lil hygiene is needed Food was good ( lil more chilies pls 😉 )I recommend this place for snacking.Snacks are very tasty and good worth the money.Home made taste.

Being a half Maharashtrian. And spending all summers in Mumbai. My love for it’s food never died. After relocating to Bangalore. It was very difficult to settle in and being a foodie. It was difficult to find places that serve food to my taste. After some suggestions I tried the food here. The best misal pav and kheema pav I’ve tasted. The kheema pavs aroma took me back to Mumbais lanes and got back umpteen memories.I also tried the sea food. Loved the fish fry and crab fry was a steal deal. Super spicy and yet finger licking good. Also loved the soul kadhi. Was a tad bit spicy for a drink. But went really well with the thaali. Also not to forget the crispy and scrumptious sabudana wada. And the wada pav. For me the garlic dry chutny was the best :)Head to this place to try some lip smacking thaali and some tasty starters..

This is quite a small and cozy place in the heart of Indiranagar. They have just a few seats for you to eat, and mostly cater to deliveries. That being said, they offer some of the best Marathi delicacies in town. Moreover, they’re quite pocket friendly too and the service time is quite decent. Their staff is also quite friendly, and always there to help you decide what to order. I visited on a weekday night, and so was lucky to find enough seating space there, which might not be the case on a weekend. That being said, the following section gives a brief overview of everything that I tried:Sol Kadhi (8.5/10) – A really nice and refreshing drink made from kokum, this acts as a really good palate cleanser. It’s quite light and makes for a great accompaniment to some of the really spicy dishes they have on offer.Mutton Keema Pav (9/10) – Served with 3 pavs, just loved this spicy delicacy made from minced mutton or what we call kheema. It was wonderfully spiced that had a nice rustic flavour because of the use of aromatic whole spices. There was also minced onion and lemon given alongside which I’d recommend you add to the kheema.Vada Pav (8.5/10) – Just love the vada pav that they serve mostly for the dried chutney they use which is similar to what you get in the streets of Mumbai. The vada filling was warm and crispy on the outside that complemented the soft pav really well.Sabudana Vada (8.5/10) – One more deep fried starter that they serve, that vegetarians must try. Being crispy on the outside, and having that slightly chewy sabudana filling along with soft potatoes makes it a treat to have.Bangda Rawa Fry (9/10) – Really loved how well seasoned this was. The masala covering the fish was extremely delicious, and the additionaly textural contrast added by the rawa making it crispy on the outside made it taste even better.Puran Poli (8.5/10) – Stuffed with gram flour and jaggery, this one of my favourite comfort foods of all time. They do proper justice to it, and no matter how full you are, you have to end your meal with at least 1 of this!Overall, this is my go to place for some authentic Marathi food here in Bangalore. It’s quite old, yet the quality remains top notch. Moreover, the price still remains quite affordable. instagram.com

Most of the people in Bangalore might have heard how famous the suryawanshi restaurant is. So I decided to try them out. It’s a very small place with very friendly and courteous staff. First, I had the sabudana vada which is cooked sabudana made like a tikki and fried, which is very great. Then I had the misal pav, which is served with Freshly chopped onions and lemon wedge. It’s really spicy though. Then I had the rawa fried prawns which is also just amazing and a must try dish here, the seasoning of the crumbing is also on point. Also, I had the river pomfret fry which was perfectly marinated and had amazing flavours.Moving on, the mutton keema pav which is basically minced mutton in a thick gravy served along side pav Or buns was also very nice, hot and fresh. To end the meal, I had the puran poli otherwise known as Holige in kannada which is like a sweet chapati with loads of ghee. It is just fantastic. Anyone craving for Marathi food, this is a place to visit!

This small food joint in Indiranagar, serves authentic Maharashtrian food. They have multiple options and varieties for both veg and non veg thali’s.Their sabudana vada is a must try.Though they can work a bit on their service, else this is a good place to explore a different cuisine.

What an amazing experience it was to be at Suryawanshi! It’s a small outlet with limited seating but the staff is courteous, friendly and will make efforts to make you feel like home.To begin with, I loved the sabu dana vada – soaked Sago pearls deep fried in the shape and size of galauti kebab served with a really nice coriander dip.Followed by the rava coated prawns that are deep fried. You can also get a hearty portion of Pomfret coated with rava and deep fried. They also have bangda and surmai fishes available. For main course, I had the keema roti – basic mutton keema served alongside chapatis. To end with, I had the puran poli – an Indian flat bread stuffed with a sweet lentil filling made from skinned spilt bengal gram/chana dal and jaggery. In marathi language, the sweet filling is called as puran and the bread is called as poli. Also consider their thalis, they’re on the higher side so it’s best you share them.Loved the experience. Truly marathi authentic food.

We visited this place during Ganesh Chaturthi, although the tables were all occupied we got a place to sit within no time. It is little congested when it comes to seating arrangement but the well lit decor, corner roadside view makes up for it. Coming to the food I have no complaints regarding the taste. We ordered Veg thali which had very limited and simple items. The thali was not even worth half the price of what they had kept. Hence the rating.
