Not sure why the rating is so low for this restaurant. We were invited for an anniversary party in Banquet Hall of Silsila. I absolutely enjoyed the food. Biriyani was a let down as it was super spicy. Rest all dishes were good. Kansas were good.Curd rice was lovely.Decorations and ambience was excellent
I have stayed at Hotel Silicrest for more than 3 weeks and every I took breakfast from Silsila Restaurant. For breakfast options are very limited, mostly south Indian breakfast. Apart from breakfast noodles are somewhat in good side, triple rice is also delicious(but comes with no gravy) but bit spicy.
Silsila or silicrest is the below average restaurant. I went for a buffet. First of all service is very bad, lack of variety, foods do not taste good. I must say its a waste of money ,time and energy.
We went here for a team lunch. This place is located on the world famous sony signal road, right opposite to the Liberty showroom and diagonally opposite to the Maharaja restaurant. The restaurant is at the 4th floor of the building and is really small. The buffet is spread across a small area and it was hardly a spread. The ambiance was dull and boring. The staff were bored and inefficient. All the white plates and bowls were so dirty that we had ask them to change the entire set. The staff brought out a few more plates but that was equally dirty as well. The veg starters included banjaara sheek kebab and chilly gobi, both of which were less than average. These were the only two veg starters available. The gobi was soggy and the sheek was chewy. Right next to it was the chaat counter. And by counter I mean a place where all the ingredients and sauces are set up and you have to make your own plate of chat. There were a few salads as well. The thai veg salad was nothing but chopped vegetables, green salad was sliced cucumbers, black chana salad was boiled chick peas. The kachumbar salad surprisingly had no cucumber in it. The non veg starters were one chicken and one fish. Both tasted okay and could be seasoned better. The main course was veg hakka noodles with a cashew and vegetable gravy. In Indian there was Punjabi paneer masala, bhindi do pyaza and dal pancharangi. They tasted ordinary and nothing great. There was a mexican pasta as well that was not palatable at all. In non veg there was murgh hara mirchi and chicken stew along with chicken dum biryani. The biryani was good but the stew did not look or taste appealing. The desserts were carrot halwa, ice cream, rasmalai and fruit custard. The rasmalai got over quickly and was replaced with gulab jamoon. The carrot halwa was dry and way too sweet. There were only two flavors of ice cream and none of the desserts made for a sweet ending.Staff and service: 2/5Ambiance: 2/5Taste: 2/5Value for money: 2/5Price for two: Rs. 800 approx.
