A place that makes me nostalgic. Dunno how it is now, but my memories take me back to crossing the Mysore Road with friends and taking the road beside the petrol pump, leading to a small place with couple of tables and chairs. Day or night, whenever we were not able to take the mess food in, we used to go out here. And used to have the standard chicken rice/roti daal sabji. The chicken was standard Bengali/eastern Indian style cooked spicy curry, with four medium to large pieces, accompanied by standard rice daal and sabji. You would rarely find such a good place in that small amount of expense. Rarely felt unsatisfied after dining in here, and hopefully, the place has remained the same now.
Tasty and homely food. Not too spicy and oily. It is definitely value for money place. The phulkas are served hot and soft. The curries are good. Only thing is the place doesn’t have enough fans and can get during summers
Ambience- As the name suggest its a mess built with a mindset of providing affordable food. Hygiene is followed though.Pocket friendly- Reasonable for the quality and quantity served.Food- Chicken Thali is generous in quantity. Each item is fresh starting from Chicken leg piece in spicy curry which is absolutely delicious and tender.Steamed rice is served with Dal, Fried Potatoes, Papad, Pickle and 1 Veg curry.Egg Fried Rice was served steaming hot with good quantity of eggs in it. The rice quantity can serve two people. It was bland yet tasty. I liked the pepper usage in the rice which added to the taste.Service- Quick and prompt.Rating- 4 as the place can use good lighting and can be maintained better.
I got a big thread in egg tarka i ordered last night. The Rotis are also very thin and we have much better options in other places. Food is not hygeinic . After seeing a big thread or a par of a rope i would never oredr again.
The food’s taste is nice, and the quantity is also sufficient, and the price is descent. Overall pocket-friendly restaurant. I have been ordering from 3 yrs and I was never disappointed
I had fried rice and aloo paratha for lunch.Aloo paratha was just ok where as veg fried rice was hot and good. Good quantity of food served at affordable cost.
Awesome restaurant for North Indian food lovers. Details below:Taste-wise: Taste is almost as good as you get. It can be slightly on the spicier and oilier side but all that can be kept aside as it is too delectable! Be it Veg or Non-veg, appetizers or main course, whatever you order here, you will be satisfied. Fulki roti is a must have because in the Southern part of India, fulki roti is not eaten as a daily course meal item. Thali system is present too. This means, you will get unlimited Dal, Sabji, Bhujiya, Papad if you need. For extra chapati and Rice you need to pay. Cool. Chicken Butter Masala is world famous here and I’ve never been disappointed with Panneer items as well. Cooks here are all Biharis and hence, you know where they get this taste from.Ambiance: Yes, it is not a high-end restaurant. So, it lacks the eye catching ambiance. Sitting space is ample though in the peak hours, you still need to wait.Price: Reasonable price and hence the popularity! Very many items are available and at moderate price tag. Sometimes I believe they are rather cheap taking into consideration the quantity and quality.Service: They are very efficient. Swift service, but prone to falter in peak hours. Still they manage it pretty well. Not well groomed staff but you don’t expect that in such places as well.Overall, you can hit the place oftenly. Wouldn’t suggest to go here everyday as it is not very healthy. However, it is very tempting I say!
