Basil Bistro – a very intriguing place to visit if you are a fan of Italian and Thai Cuisine. Just a cute decor with amazing food and some wine brings out amazing vibes at this place. Just located in HSR this bistro is the new talk. As a part of my visit, I was fascinated by their menu and some amazing dishes that made me curious to try them all. I started with some soup – Cream of Broccoli Almonds was just perfect. The texture was smooth and there were no chunks of broccoli in the soup. As you sip it with the toasted bread crumbs you would feel the mild taste of broccoli. A must recommended dishSalad of Capri – another masterpiece by the chef was just classic. The surprise was the mozzarella chunks in the pesto tossed lettuce with plump tomatoes. I would say eating a salad once was an advantageSpanakopita – which I have tried for the first time just made me fall in love with it. The layers on the pastry with spinach fillings just got the attention of mine.Another dish worth trying is the chargrilled mushroom and baby corn – perfectly grilled and the flavors were intact. Prima Veggie delight Pizza – Now there is a nice cheesy thing that just pulled my attention towards it. The cheese was ready to be pulled into strings perfectly. And the flavors were well intact and well distributed. The arrabbiata pasta just got me to be more greedy to try more. The sundried tomato sauce got its tanginess to its peak. Well working with the Penne. But out of all the dishes, that beauty which just made me wage a war on the table was the Exotic Veggie Rissoto I had to make sure that I became Joey for that dish. Cheesy, with a slightly smoked buttery garlic flavor which balanced the dishes’ taste with all veggies. It was a perfect masterpiece. Having tried multiple risottos in past years this was hands down the best I ever tasted in Bangalore. And Special mention of their garlic bread. Now I just was tired of all the spice and main course – I just wanted some desserts and I just ordered their 3 masterpieces. Mentioning them based on the ranking Rank 1: Blueberry cheesecake – perfectly set cheesecake with the blueberry syrup (Best ever tried ) Rank 2: Churros with chocolate sauce – the cinnamon sugar just got this dessert to the top with its hot chocolate sauce. Rank 3: Tiramisu – this was good but by the difference of small points, Churros took the second place. And finally, the Sangria was quite amazing with the mixing of both Red and green apples. Quite the flavor with the tanginess of the wine. Finally, I would say I had meal of the kings. Well prepared and curated by the Chef. I would love to visit this place again for some exploring of their other dishes. Verdict:Food: 5/5 ( would rate more )Service: 4.5/5Ambaince: 5/5Adios,Akhilesh Math tantrumfits.com

HSR has been swarming with new places and Basil bistro is the latest addition. I have been to this place thrice already and I have always left with a smile on my face. The ambience is soothing, it has such nice vibes. It’s a quaint place with beautiful decor. And those lights have my heart. We started off with their soups, which are absolutely the best. The cream of Broccoli and Almonds is my favorite of the lot. You can customize it with either chicken or prawns. Next, we had their salads, Washington Apple salad and Fattoush salad, you would absolutely love them both. I had some white wine to go along with the food. Next, we moved to the starters, Paneer cigar roll, Spanakopita, Cilantro chicken and butter garlic prawns were what we had. And let me be honest, I loved them all. Next, we had their Chicken feast pizza, which had cheese oozing out from all sides, it was a treat. I indulged in some aglio olio, they had penne in place of spaghetti, nevertheless, it didn’t disappoint. The Ravioli here is a delight, it’s so creamy, you would relish it to the core. In the Indian main course, we had their Mutton curry with rice and some Dal makhani. The Mutton curry was decent, the Dal makhani could have been better.Well, being the dessert person that I am, digged into their Blueberry cheesecake and Tiramisu. The cheesecake is a must have, you can’t have enough of that! The Tiramisu is equally good. The service of this place is top notch, something which I really appreciate. This place also has live music on some Saturdays, you got to check with them, it makes for a beautiful evening indeed with your friends and family.Cheers! thefatummy.wordpress.com

Basil Bistro is a nice cosy place to enjoy a good meal in HSR. The place is pretty small and was jam packed when we came here for Sunday lunch (with luckily one table empty!)We ordered pink sauce penne chicken pasta, honey glazed chicken for mains. Ordered sea breeze mocktail and red wine sangria to go along. The pasta was delicious, and not too cheesy. However coming to the honey glazed chicken, I felt the portion size was too less! For the amount charged, the meal size seemed disappointing compared to the continental mains served at other restaurants. I didn’t enjoy the veggies served along as well, I’d suggest to add some carrots+babycorns to bring that crunchiness because serving only capsicum+zuchini made it feel like something was missing from the dish. The mocktail was nice. I enjoyed the fact that they put strawberries in the sangria! Service was prompt and good.
A posh, classy place which offers a good range of food. There were little surprises which I have not seen before anywhere else which gives a feel-good factor. Starting with a complimentary plate of bread and mayonnaise and ending with a pan drink served on a small cute hand cart with dry ice by the side. I had a sizzler and a cheesecake. The sizzler was good, though the amount of veggies served were more compared with the amount of rice, which I personally don’t appreciate. But the cheesecake was hard and difficult to scoop through with the spoon itself. Overall the prices are more, considering that even a normal thali or a biriyani costs in the range of 300Rs, but yet justifiable with the service provided and the little treats which I mentioned before. Service was polite, but can be faster.+1 for the ambience+1 for the special treats+1 for the variety in food options-1 for food-1 for the prices
