Being a bong, I was so exited when they opened first. I have visited this place multiple times. It has a very attractive decoration, but they need to improve on the variety. I have tried different ‘sondesh’, ‘rosogolla’, ‘mihidana’, ‘sita bhog’ — all common sweets of bengal and nothing is extra ordinery, rather few things are not upto the mark. They should have come up with their own speciality. I have tried their ‘singara'(samosa) which is also not good, and ‘radha ballavi’, but didnt like either. On another front it is extreamly costly, and value for money is very low as per my opinion.ambience 4/5service 4/5food 3/5value for money 2/5
The sweets are not as per as k c Das or bancharam but price is same. We ordered and disappointed. If you are a Bengali and looking for authentic sweets this is not the place – they need to improve a lot
Ordered Bonde, Sitabhog, Mihidana, Malai Chap, Radhaballavi, and Samosa fro Begir Road branch. Had visited the same branch and had Lancha, and many other sweets there. Now, let me tell you what I liked were Samosa, Misti Doi, and Komola Bhog. What I didn’t like was Lencha. It tasked like an ordinary gulab jamun. A2B prepares better tasting gulab jamun than them. Also, the Bonde smelt of being cooked in some low grade refined oil. The most annoying part was Sitabhog which didn’t have a Chhana Balls in it. I was annoyed to see the plain white Sitabhog. Radhballavi tastes very average and becomes papad in a while. The Malai Chap was very small in size. They aren’t charging any less than Kanti or A2B but they are no providing the authentic begali quality which they have been promising claiming always.
This sweet shop is newly opened in HSR layout. It’s a Bengali sweet shop so I couldn’t control my self to try the food. The chamcham was really nice and soft. Gur rasgulla (jeggery flavor sweet). Has no smell of jeggery. Then we had one plate radhaballavi (stuffed Puri) with potato Curry. The photo curry was good but the puri was really hard to chew.
I ordered few of the sweets, let me be honest and give feedback in sequence.1. Langcha– It could be better if Ghee used , the oil used for frying is quite Stinky.2. Sita Bhog could be more interesting and better is original recipe is used.3. Gulab Jamon Stuffed — Stuffing can be more interesting and flavorful again the cooking medium spoiled the entire taste.4. Kala Jamun- Look for better cooking medium. Over all not satisfactory with the quality and Taste. This c an be improve keeping in mind the great recipe we BONG can spread.
