I absolutely loved the food and drinks here. The drinks are especially well made. The quickgun murugan, Annie on the beach , ajjis pickle all of them taste amazing. They can be passed off as non alcoholic for their taste but with a nice kick. The ghee roast, Kori roti and cantonment mutton all taste too good. Elaneer payasam is the cherry on the top to finish an excellent meal.

UDP – Urban Deccan PubIf you’re sipping an awesome cocktail called ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ & ‘Vannakam kokum’ while enjoying stunning views of the Bengaluru, you’re definitely at the UDP. The place has a relaxed, kinda rustic setting with dim lighting, open roof top space, wall murals, an interesting menu that focuses on hand picked delicacies from South Indian states and an awesome vibe that stays with you for quite sometime. Its located bang on in 100 feet Indiranagar surprises one and all with their Innovative cocktails Fantastic pub gurb which focuses on dishing out some local favorites. What Kranti Recommends:Quick Gun Murugan – Dark rum, tiramisu syrup and some bitters make this one their specialty. Served in tumbler, must say its a showstopper.Vannakam Kokum – this is one helluva refreshing drink that has whiskey as its base, white wine a bit of triple sec and lime juice, that leaves you craving for more. Deccan sunrise – Fine blend of Gin, carrot juice a pinch of triple sec and a hint of lime juice and star anise – not too sweet nor bitter this one takes you by surprise. Anna by the Beach – a mix of white rum, coconut syrup, pineapple juice, sour mix and then garnished with curry leaves served in a coffee tumblerYeah you heard me right this one is served in a authentic tumbler – which was for sure a pleasant surprise for me, alas it impressed me.The music lights up your mood & food is perfect. Do not forget to try the Southern fried prawns- Crunchy prawns coated with batter and deep fried and sprinkled with some spices and curry leaves make this one a crowd favorite and perfect bar nibble, Mallipuram chicken skewers – Simple chicken skeweres marinated well and cooked to perfection and the chicken so tender it just melts in your mouth, Mini Dosa Tacos – small bite size dosa topped with paneer boy just loved chefs take on this one, Chinnaveyanga Sambar idly (not a Idly person but this one will leave you craving for another serving) End it with some chicken Potli biryani – simple chicken biryani wrapped in banana leaf as a sack and then when the team unfolds this one the aroma is intruging and gripping. Do try itDesserts – Gulabjamun tiramisu is a perfect balance of sweetness and innovative touch to classic tiramisu. Elaneer payasam pudding is something which is loved by one and all. UDP – Urban Deccan Pub, the name itself is peculiar but at the same time it makes sense as soon as you enter the dining area and you are amazed by the wonderful ambience. They also have roof top which is beautiful throughout the day. The inside has a touch of soothing tropical environment.Food is amazing. I love how each and every dish has a touch of authenticity. It’s exceptional how they maintain the classics as well as the contemporary sides of South Indian cuisine. All the prawn dishes are my favorite. Biryani and pepper chicken chettinad are finger licking good. They are different from the Mughal style biryanis however they taste excellent. Ghee roast chicken was good but was lacking the expected flavour of ghee. One should also try their signature cocktails. The impeached brewsky is my recommendation.Service is quick and staffs are polite. This place also has some continental food items like pizzas so you can always munch into food of your choice with their amazing cocktails.

UDP is a new place in the prime location! They have a elaborate fusion menu with mostly south Indian food in new avatar, few really fascinating innovations that blew my mind!We were a bunch of friends who visited and here’s our experience trying the creatively curated menu.Urban Deccan chips with hummus was a delicious and addicting twist to the usual Nachos, as this one is Malabar paratha presented differently. It was perfectly crispy texture.Bisibele poppers – yes you heard it right! Indian version of Sicilian aracini which is stuffed rice ball too. This was bisibele bath mixed with cheese and stuffed inside bread crumbs. Very well made and I liked this version of bisibele bath.Chettinad paneer tikka pizza – i loved this pizza which was with thin crust and with loads of cheese and the chettinad flavour made it even good.Arbi podimas- arbi deep fried with Indian spices was again a interestingly delicious starter. A must try for vegetarians.UDP loaded fries – this was something new again that I tried first time. French fries with sauces and SAMBAR flavoured salsa. You can definitely try this one too.Fish fry- with right amount of spices well marinated and cooked. I loved this too.Dosa tacos with kozhi gassi- a mini set dosa topped with chicken is also a innovative way of presenting the set dosa.Coming to main course:Potli Biryani – was unlike the usual biryani’s with good mint flavours and chicken well cooked. We devoured the biryani for sure.If you love kori roti then you can have Kori roti with kozhi gassi which is Mangalorean cuisine.Desserts:Elaneer payasa pudding- I love tender coconut and so do I loved this pudding thou found it little lesser sweet but yes delicious. (I love my desserts extra sweet)Ajji’s apple crumble rolls with toffee sauce – lovely texture of the roll and filling was also good. It won my heart for sure.Gulab jamoon tiramisu- this was also delicious with tiramisu and gulab jamoon layered in between.Coffee brownie- coffee flavoured brownie with ice cream was yum for sure.Must try- pizzas, Deccan chips with hummus, potli Biryani, arbi podimas, bisibele poppers and all the desserts.Service was super quick here.Definitely recommend this place for your large group parties too.Food- 4/5Ambience- 5/5Service- 5/5

When the flavours of Karnataka, Andhra and Tamil Nadu come together, magic is all you will see on your table! The ambience is decent and their rooftop is so so beautiful which is just perfect for a romantic date night and an evening with loved ones.@udpindia is one of it’s kind place which pays a tribute to the delectable and rich food culture of Udipi with a modern touch. The specially curated menu of comfort and loved dishes from the southern states will steal your heart away.Do not miss out on their P&P cutlets (crumb fried raw banana and peanut cutlets)…Must try:1. Urban Deccan Chips: Absolute stunner and fried Malabar parathas served in chips style. These are just the appetiser you will need to munch on with your drink.2. Bisi Bele Poppers: Absolutely amazing flavors. The crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these unique style poppers are a full 5/5.3. Tawa Fish fry: Fried perfectly with a marination of rich indian spices, the perfectly cooked tawa fish was really good.4. Pepper Chicken Fry5. Kondapur Chicken Curry: I tried this with Malabar parathas and I absolutely loved the taste. Tender chicken pieces cooked in coconut curry are spiced well and the taste is so so good.6. Gulab Jamun Tiramisu: The balance of flavours of coffee and the gulab Jamun in a dessert jar are perfectly balanced. The sugar is mild and just perfect for people like me who prefer their dessert to be light on sugar.Special Mention: I asked for a cold coffee and the staff was sweet enough to take recommendations on how I would want it to be. Keeping coffee and sugar on the lower side, they prepared me one and I so so loved it. The gestures like these really make a difference.A must try place for all south Indian food lovers.
