Worst biryanis ever..Had ordered Prawns and Hydrabadi biryani ended up throwing both away.. The prawns biryani was totally bland with barely 4 prawns in it and the Hydrabadi biryani tasted tangy and had a bad smell to it, probably spoilt..Spoke to the customer representative and they said that they can’t do anything abt it, weren’t ready to give me a replacement nor a refund..Didn’t expect this from Zomato.Never ever gonna order from this place again.
One of the worst place I have ever been , hygine is -5 , value for money ,food is very oily and not upto any standards . If you have a weak stomach this is not the place
Popeye’s, an fast food restaurant that has lived through 2 decades is situated opposite beasant college.This particular restuarant used to serve pizza, wantons and lassi which has created a nostalgia of taste. On my receny visit, the restuarant seems to have recieved a make over of ambience and taste. Had ordered paneer chilly and red sauce pasta, the paneer was averagely edible and the pasta was served with Indian tadka’s.The prices are more than reasonable hence caters to a lot of college crowd. As of me, I prefer to get nostalgic about the food served during my college days than visit the place again .
Use to go to this place wen they never served chinese and use to serve just a few items on the menu including burgers. We just loved their burgers. I wonder why they dont hav it on der menu now.The place has been turned into a decent chinese restaurant now.Been there laterly, the place is quite neat. They seem to be doing well. Serving not so hygienic chinese food.Service is fast. Talking about food.. Well its average. Or I cud say a lil above average.Loved their dragon rice. The american choupsey and manchurian were not properly cooked. The quantity of vinegar sauce was extremely more (tatz wat i felt) and hence the taste was not upto the mark.Planning to come down again soon to try other food on the menu. Lets see.For now it was an average experience.
Serves good Chinese dishes and the option of half plate in the menu is a plus point for solo hunger souls. Rates are pocket friendly and Is a small clean place often opted by college students.
Popeye’s brings back fond memories. This place has been there, since like ever, and serves some really delicious Chinese stuff, at very nominal rates. I have visited this place since I was in school, till I was into my final year at work, before leaving Mangalore for higher studies.The place is really really small, crying out for space and air, but that’s what adds to the charm. You can barely stand straight in the first floor, the ceiling is that low. The old management has changed though. I remember the old uncle who used to run this place, with his old Albert teller machine which used to make a ruckus while printing the bill.I would strongly suggest the soups here. They are of good quantity, and tangy! Dragon Chicken, Hunan Chicken, Chicken Manchurian, Chicken 65, Pepper Fried Chicken, Popeye’s Special Chicken, Chicken Lollypop, I have tried them all!Rice servings are really generous. Favorites were Shanghai, Popeye’s Special, Lees Special, Triple Schezwan among others. The sauces, such as the white sauce would be freshly prepared, and make for a good take-home meal.Do try the fruit juices/shakes here. Freshly prepared and a perfect finish to your meal! Damn, I miss this place!
