May 08, 2018Went to Diner’s Paradise for the first time. A sort of a dingy place, but the AC section is a little more spacey. Didn’t try a whole lot of items on the menu. We ordered a mutton matka dum biriyani. It is priced at 340/-. Quantity-wise, it was value for money, but the quality of mutton pieces didn’t do justice; very little meat and lot of bone and fat. Probably the chicken variant would have been a better choice in terms of meat quality.The only other item we ordered was chicken uruval (half) – priced at 240/-. Really impressed with the quantity for the pricing. The pricing is not very cheap, but elsewhere, one would get just 75% of the quantity here for the price they charged. The taste and flavour of biriyani and the uruval were very good.We both have a reasonably huge appetite, especially for biriyani, but it really took the wind out of the two of us to finish what we had ordered. One matka biriyani and uruval chicken would easily satiate 3 people with a decent appetite.Mint lime soda for 70/- each was a bit too pricey, but nonetheless, was served in a huge mug. Unfortunately ended up wasting half of it.Overall, it’s a place I would visit again. And would definitely take parcels of their matka biriyani.
