This is the second time here.. And the experience is completely opposite. We were served cold burnt rice for 80 bucks each. Shukto was cold. Mutton tasted okay but it was half the quantity from last time and was cold too. From what I understood is the place is completely different without the owner. When the owner is present the serving is so much better. In the contrary the guy who was at the reception today had a face like Bengali no 5 who was so cold in his behaviour and had to be asked at least thrice for everything. I always wanted to be back to this place after the first visit which was amazing, however very skeptical now.
Ordered only through Swiggy. Quality kept on decreasing throughout. And finally I’ve decided not going to order from here anymore.Ordered fish meal once. I’m not exaggerating but seriously that meal reminded me of my hostel life. Let me tell you why – Firstly the Dal was like yellow water – That’s it. Secondly, the fish was really hard and chewy. Normally this happens if the fish is fried 2-3 days back and kept in the freezer and just before serving it, you put it into the hot gravy. I don’t know if they are actually doing this (As I didn’t visit their kitchen) but it felt like so, as I’ve seen exactly this used to happen in our hostel kitchen. Oh! one more thing. Did I mention the size of fish piece?? OMG!!! I wouldn’t say anything. One has to order, then see them by themselves!! I wouldn’t even pay Rs. 40 for this kind of food. They are charging Rs. 180!!!!! Ordered chicken biriyani too, a couple of times. It was not as horrible as the fish meal. But I felt it lacks aroma or flavor of bengali style biriyani. Disheartening, as I was missing being in Kolkata!
I have ordered from here for like two times. Food was good but not great. I liked their Pabda fish curry and daal most. Good for take away if you are not in a mood to cook.
I ordered food for a family gathering at my house and it was mainly vegetarian dishes. The food quality was really good and have more or less made up my mind to order food from here itself for any future gatherings or events. The employees were very cordial and helpful.
