If you are looking for a homely and delicious food, this is the destination. This restaurant has carved a niche among its other restaurant in the area. Purely Veg.
Pathetic service. Bland food.Went to have dinner, first floor has a service hall, waiter took wrong order and started to fight over it.there were pebbles in gravy.
Mainly go for tea, breakfast, snacks. The food is well below average. Many places serve much better and low priced food and fill your stomach satisfactorily. Good for money if you want a quick grab of south Indian food.
Disclaimer – This review is based on my only visit to hotel to try curd vada. Not sure of others items.I was going that side, saw curd vada in the board. It tempted me to try so hopped in to taste it. This place is easy to locate. Can park vehicle in road side. It is just a self service fast food.Curd vadai costed Rs.33/- I thought i will get 2 pieces but shocked to see only one for that price. It taste average. The boondi mixture used as topping is not crisp and fresh. Spoiled the taste too. Disappointing experience. Price is on a higher side for the ambiance, quantity and quality we get.
Have been to this twice, while coming back from some or the other place.. The food is decent and so is the price.. Only suitable for quick eats.. Nothing fancy..its like all the other Udupi’s..
First time I had need at this restaurant was in ’07 & I would say that this place has lost it’s charm after all the new restaurants have come now. Breakfast to lunch to evening snacks & then dinner, they have quite a few varieties of dishes. Quality has reduced now. Go to this restaurant if u don not have any choice otherwise you can give it a miss
Edit countless visits now :-)This time it was north Indian meals, they have rightly said a picture is worth a thousand words, have look at the thali pic. They were tasting as good as they looked, only the soup was bit sweet for my liking. All these for 85, worth every penny ! Edit 4th or 5th VisitIncreasing the rating from 3.5 to 4.5 just for the taste and quality of their food, I have become a fan of their poori saagu and idli vada sambar, the chef seems to be doing his best job here.In all the 4 to 5 visits (now I have lost the counts) not even once I was disappointed, sambar (had 3 servings) and saagu are excellent tasting with nice aroma, staff are courteous, not much crowded in the morning.Saw some enjoying aloo baaji as well for the Poori along with Sagu and Chutney. Now I can say it is a must try place in JP nagar which is yet to get it’s due attention.First Visit:This place was in my long pending list and the food didn’t disappoint me when I landed here for a breakfast. This is how I would rate my experience.Poori Saagu – 5/5 It was excellent, the saagu was not the usual cheap aloo one but was mildly spiced (cinnamon, clove, cardamom based) veg curry typical old Bangalorian style.Poori was also not too oily, was fluffy and perfectly fried without any bad oil smell.Chutney was good without excess of salt.Idli Vada – 5/5 excellent, Idlis were soft, vada was crisp, sambar was not salty and the serving was liberal, had 2 times additional serving as it was quite tasty and the idlis did absorb it well.Again chutney was good and was not salty, you can have generous dip along with sambar which I always like.Mysore Masala dosa – 2.5/5 This was just average and the vegetable filling was very salty and undercooked, a dollop of butter (not in pic as I got it removed) and cashews in the filling earned additional mark.Kesari bath – 4/5 Quite good with liberal use of pineapple, raisins and cashews (in the same order) the sugar levels were perfect, neither less nor tasting too sweet.Staff were courteous, parking for 4 wheelers is on road side.Though the spoons were kept in hot water, the cups for chutney and sambar were used without removing the residual water in them, also the open kitchen didn’t seem very clean, half mark less for the same.Otherwise this is a good place for breakfast and a must try if you happen to pass by this hotel.
