Pepe Verdes – located in race course road just below the london curry house. Amazing place to have authentic Italian dishes. Very cosy european cafe ambience with blie and white decor. Stylish furnitures. Courteous staff. Perfect for some laid back italian dish munching with some great wine.Ordered:1) Cream Of Asperagi – Must try soup. Loved the light taste, green in color. Kinda thick texture.2) Polpetti di spinachi and formaggio – momo kind balls stuffed with spinach and spices. Different variety to try.3) Classic Bruschetta – crispy and tasty. Just perfect.4) Cannolini ala florentina – one kind of pasta. Good in taste5) Tortellini Salsa Rosa – my fav pasta. Spicy and tasty. Must try.6) Calzone al farno pizza – its kind of folded pizza with stuffing inside7) White wine – Recommended. Lovely drink. All food was yumm and felt authentic. Definitely recommended for Italian food.
The owner of London curry house has started an Italian restaurant in the same building one floor above. The interiors of the place has been tastefully decorated and is quite elegant. Everything is in pleasant pastel colors. The place is quite huge with various seating options including tables and chairs, sofa with tables, and high chairs and tables. They have showpieces strategically placed on the walls. The ambience itself gives you a calm and relaxed feeling. It is suitable for families and big groups looking to sit and have a nice conversation. Coming to the menu, it’s purely Italian with crostini, pasta, pizza, risotto, etc. The beverages menu includes alcoholic drinks, wine, mocktails, smoothies and coffee. In beverages, we ordered a peanut butter chocolate milkshake which was presented well and had the right amount of sweetness, flavor and consistency. They provided a complimentary bread with butter which tasted good. In main course we ordered ravioli in roasted vegetables in pink sauce. The ravioli was cooked well and the sauce was good. We then ordered pepe Verde special pizza which was loaded with jalapenos, olives, bell peppers, onion, etc. The pizza was baked well, crust was just the right thickness and tasted good. In desserts, they had the normal options that every Italian restaurant offers including tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate truffle, etc. I felt they needed to have more innovative desserts. We ordered the chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream and the taste was average as i felt the chocolate was bitter. Staff and service was very good. Definitely worth visiting at least once!
I’m all in for an authentic Italian restaurant, and this being purely veg got me even more excited. Firstly, the AMBIENCE is very picturesque and pretty with a light mint green theme. Huge thumbs up on the interiors. Secondly, the FOOD. Wide range of options available! Lots to try! We had their spinach and ricotta ravioli in pink sauce and it was the best I’ve ever had. Still craving for more. The pizza we had was with mushrooms and onion and was perfectly made. Thirdly, the SERVICE was excellent. Very friendly staff. Definitely visiting again to try more thing on the menu. This place is in the run for one of the best Italian places in Bangalore. Highly recommend it.
When it comes to food, there is nothing more romantic than the Italian food. One such experience I got when I been at Pepe Verde’s last weekend with my peers. There are spots across who boast about their Italian food speciality but none can come even near to Pepe Verde’s in terms of authentic delicacy and taste. We have visited the space especially to try out the range of cuisine they offer across the menu and yes we did tasted out till our stomach shouted back – enough!. So firstly I like to highlight how ambience gives you the right Italian feel with white walls accompanied with soft yellow lighting and exquisite seating arrangement gives right vibe as in Italy only and to make it more authentic, there was a bookshelf with some renowned authors present there and a stand with luxurious wines and liquor. Now I like to speak on the dishes front, so first I have got Cream of Asparagi soup which had pure asparagus and cream poured on it served with a bread stick, next on starters I have tasted Cheese n Chilli Foccacia, Classic Bruschetta which had baked Crostini with chopped tomato, garlic, olives and basil, Tortellini Salsa Rosa & Tortellini Funghi Formaggio which had Tortellini stuffed with cheese and veggies served around with creamy sauce.Next we got Linguini Saltati, Antipasti Platter consisting all the starter menu at one plate giving choice to all to eat what they loved. Next we had one of the best variety of Pizza – Calzone Al Forno Pizza. Unlike a normal pizza the toppings and cheese got mixed up together and stuffed in the covering from the base. Very unique and tasteful pizza for me.Next in the drink and desserts, I tried out Sherlock Homes Addiction which had coffee and strawberry syrup together tasted very delightful to me, indeed the addiction part they got right here. But the one I liked the most was Three Men at the Big Den which had peanut butter, brownie and vanilla scoop in the chocolate shake and going further I never gonna forGet the taste of it ever. Never Ever. Then there were some chef specials for us, I guess our enthusiasm for the italian cuisine got the chef prepped up to serve us. And that included Vanilla Jelly cake, Brownei-Vanilla pool, Coffee Pastry which all tasted like awesome. So, considering all, I highly recommend this space to all irrespective of your likingness towards Italian food.Because not only for the food but for the ambience and service aspect you must be here, they for sure gonna make you feel the Italy in Bangalore.
This newbie Italian restaurant is on racecourse road and below the London curry house. On entering you will observe the soothing ambience. There are chairs near the bar and good seating arrangements.Cream of Asperagi soup was the best start after which two baked mushroom dishes, Funghi Texmex and Funghi Al Forno were succulent.Pastas were heavenly. Out of the two, Cannelloni Alla Florentina and Tortillini salsa rose my favourite is the first one. You should surely try that. The latter is less spicy and more saucy. Also, there is another starter you mustn’t miss – Rice Cheese Balls (forgot the name on the menu).Liquor is also available and comes from the London curry house as the management is same. Firangi Paani, a cocktail had a perfect blend of freshness from the kiwi fruit and a dash of alcohol in it. You can also try the Sula wines.Quality, quantity and the service is great, no complaints.Be it brunch, lunch, snacks or dinner, this place is suitable.Grande cibo!
On a hectic yet dull Thursday afternoon some girls at office said, “Let’s go for lunch tomorrow. Just us girls.” And gave me the responsibility of deciding the place, and just like that by day got brighter than it had been so far This is one of my favourite things to do, deciding a place to go to, as it gives me the opportunity to explore new places in town. Within minutes I was on my friendly #Zomato app looking for places nearby. I stumbled upon this new Italian restaurant that had recently opened, a kilometre away from office, which was perfect for walking down to the place, building an appetite on the way and working off the binge on the way back. And there we were, at Pepe Verde’s – Italian Cafe & Ristorante, a quaint restaurant designed tastefully and elegantly. One almost feels like they are at a fine-dine restaurant in Europe – pastel green shade walls, upholstered furniture, long bay windows and pretty chandeliers. A perfect setting for an all-girls’ lunch or a romantic dinner for two.Coming to the food – only upon reaching there we discovered that the place was completely vegetarian, which was a bit of a dis for some of us, however, the extensive spread soon brushed away the gloom. To start with we ordered the Chef’s special salad, Foccacia, Classic bruschetta and a hummus platter (which was a bit of a surprise to me in an Italian restaurant, but anyway I love hummus, so no complains). The portion size and the flavour in each of the dishes was to point. For mains we had, the Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Gnocchi Pesto and a wood over Piccante pizza. Only concerns here was that the food seemed to be have been made to cater to the desi palate. The pesto sauce was too salty and the aglio olio was red, almost like there was chilli powder in it. The pizza however was as close as the one’s you get in an Italian café. To finish of our meal, we ordered two desserts, the Classic Tiramisu – where the general verdict was the coffee in it was too overpowering and the Torta De Stefano, a rich choco mud pie with walnuts and chocolate sauce – which was of course everyone’s favourite. The service was a little sluggish, and especially when there were so many servers and the restaurant was relatively empty. Made us wonder what would happen on a busy day. However, the staff was helpful, knew the menu, cared to explain when required and were generally pleasant.Overall, it was a good first experience. I see a lot of potential for a restaurant such as this and I hope the people in the management reading this make note of the few observations I have made. I definitely look forward to visiting again and trying something new of the menu.
Easy to locate. Beautifully decorated. Great choice of music. Good Ambience and service. Polite staff. Lot of options to choose from for Vegans looking for Italian food. Taste was mild and simple.OrderedFusulli fattoreMargharitta pizzaCalzone Al Forno(Folded pizza)
