‘Keep it simple’ applies in this case and works very well. Veg only, Punjabi food made by Punjabis 🙂 Their Methi Paratha is my current go-to & watch out for the rare Sarson ka Saag & Karela Pakoda. I go at least 4-5 times a month. Totally worth it. Be sure to say ‘hi’ to the smiling granny who makes the parathas for you. 🙂

This is one of my go-to places to eat whenever I’m craving for authentic Desi khaana. They serve the best Paranthas and Punjabi food around this side of the town at very affordable prices. I love their Paneer and Aloo Parantha and their Dal Makhani is lip-smackingly good. It does get crowded during the weekends, but they manage the crowd wonderfully. You can also ring them up and place your bulk order of 15-20 rotis and pick it up when it is ready. Some of the items are made in limited quantities and you have to be sure to reach there early in the evening if you do not want to miss out on your favourites. Overall, a great place for amazing desi food.

This is the place the husband and I love heading to whenever we are in that part of town and craving for some proper North Indian food. It’s not a place that is high on ambience, rather a small shop with just two tables outside, more suited to take-aways. The menu consists entirely of vegetarian dishes, and changes every day – there is usually one type of daal, a paneer sabzi, a dry vegetable sabzi, one rice dish, rotis and a couple of varieties of parathas available daily. They sell 1/2 and full dabbas of sabzi and rice dishes. We have eaten here so many times, and have never been unhappy with the food here. It is amazing how the taste and good quality of the food here has been consistent over the 3+ years we have been visiting here. The dishes here are homely, simple, yet flavourful, authentic North Indian unlike the ‘sambar podi-type North Indian’ that is available in a whole lot of eateries in Bangalore.Considering that it is a tiny outlet, it tends to get crowded and chaotic sometimes, especially on weekends and peak lunch and dinner times. The Punjabi family manning the store does brisk business, and are on friendly terms with most customers. Prices are quite reasonable, considering the quality and taste of the food.Do check out this place whenever you are in Vidyaranyapura – I am sure you won’t be disappointed. I would recommend their paneer butter masala, mattar paneer, and aloo gobhi.

For someone who is staying away from home or if you need the homely food then this place is the one you should look out for! The food is good and the parathas are lipsmacking
