It was actually a wonderful experience! The buffet was packed with all natural flavours, Starting from their curries, rices, fish and the list goes on..You could experience this authentic flavour here.
We had our lunch here. Fish tikka was subtly flavored and melt in the mouth. The mutton biryani that followed was the best i have had.lots of compliment s to chef Dilip . service was much appriciated by my family .thankyou ,travancore court
We had been wanting to try this place for quite a while now. However, the opportunity finally came in today. As pure vegetarians, it has been very difficult to find a place in Kerala which provides a decent vegetarian spread. Travancore Court thankfully offers a lot of choices for even vegetarians across multiple cuisines. We opted for the ala carte instead of buffet (btw the buffet is also quite value for money with a very reasonable spread). Started off with cream of tomato soup which was piping hot and tasty with a hint of celery. The paneer tikka, to our pleasant surprise, was how paneer tikka actually should taste like. Kerala restaurants usually serve either a bland or dry version, but the one here was just right. The staff were helpful in getting us a main course Indian side dish (since the listed dish had a spinach base which we weren’t really keen to have) which was not listed in the menu, and that too had a very different taste which we enjoyed. The Kerala parathas as well as the rotis served alongside were, again, just right in texture and taste. The veg biryani deserves a special mention. Generously treated with cashews and raisins, the biryani was a blend of the north Indian biryani with a hint of Kerala biryani taste infused in. The quantity was also very much sufficient for the list price.Other things we appreciated about the place are the extremely courteous staff and the ambience. The decor reminds one of Kerala architecture in a subtle way. The interiors of the hotel which the restaurant firms part of have also been tastefully done. The only complaint we have is that the tender coconut payasam that was listed on the menu was not available. That would have been a perfect dessert to wash down the yummy meal we had. But, unfortunately, that was not to be. We were not really keen to try out other dessert items which were either the usual fare (ice cream/brownie) or were not sure how it would be (stuffed banana).Definitely will be going back to this place during our next Kochi visit.
Another gem in the foodie land of Kochi. Really tasty food and the ambience. Even the price is not going to make you feel heavy on the pocket. The variety of dosa and other items quite noteworthy. Nice ambience and set up esp for the families.
