With a ‘cafe’ in its name, this place is misleading. Located by the roadside next to Vasco da Gama square and the fishing nets at Fort Kochi, the eatery is at a prime location, and therefore an easy target for innocent diners. The food is absolutely average and comes nowhere to cafe standards. The service is also really lackadaisical. And to top it off, the prices are not worth it. You will also be a target of scary mosquitoes at this location. Can be avoided.

Pathetic food. Overpriced and horrible, this place made me sick. They use one masala for all their curries and it is really not worth it, whether you are a tourist or a local. Ordered their fish curry and rice and as a malayali myself, I was disgusted. The chicken tikka was horrible and I think their only saving grace was their malabar parota. Please avoid this place. It is not worth your money.
Time : 9.30pmFood : Plain Parotta (2/5), Beef curry (3/5), lemon soda (4/5)Pros : fast service , decent price Cons : food can be tastier, tastes hurriedly made.
What a great place to just enjoy yourself with tasty meal and a smoke afterwards. Their service was extremely great and friendly, rather than being treated as just another customer, everyone around there almost treated us like we were family. Now about the food, being a restaurant specialising in sea food they provide what they say. Tasty sea food just the way you want it. Other than sea food items, dishes like soups, noodles etc was also a treat to the taste buds. Overall one great place to hang out and enjoy your meal.
Had a great Tim here with my frnds.Good place for sea food specials .We have tried squids , it was good and loved it .We ordered sandwich but it was a disappointment from them.At the end average place sligltly bit costly
I haven’t been to Kerala cafe for over an year, so you have been warned.Food:Kerala Cafe is not a cafe. It’s a joint that specializes in sea food. Here’s what you should do at Kerala Cafe. Buy fresh seafood catch at the Fort Kochi beach (A brisk walk away) and hand them over to Kerala cafe to prepare them the way you like it. Then go on a stroll for a half an hour and return in time for some wonderful seafood, and accompaniments. They charge per Kilo of seafood, no matter what the preparation.I used to frequent this place a while back, and back then we had the fish roasted and grilled, and tempura shrimps. this goes well with Tomato rice, chapathis, etc.The food was amazing. The best thing was you could buy the freshest and the best seafood catch and they prepare thir food right before your eyes. AmbienceThe ambience is nothing to write about. It’s open air, and you sit on tables set on the pavement. But that has a charm as well. Like a candle lit street dining experience. The road isn’t all busy and the cafe if more of a touristy place, so street dining isn’t as bad as what you think.Would I recommend?Yes! I’ve hosted a few guests at Kerala cafe for that authentic Fort Kochi experience. Though I haven’t been there in a while, there’s nothing stopping me from returning.Note: Kerala cafe is an outlet in a line of outlets located in this tiny open air street side food court.
