This place served me one of the best Puttu’s i have ever had. In case you were misguided by Google, this probably is the original “Kumbalam Puttu Kada” where celebrities visit. Excellent puttu along with chicken, beef and fish curry. The place is just by the Kumbalam backwaters. Better park your car on the main road and walk, else you’ll find a hard time reversing.
Serves only putty or rice steam cake with varieties of curries combo. The best of them being putting and beef. They also serve putty chicken and putting mutton. Other specialities include boiled duck eggs, chicken fry with kattan kaappi. This place is by the side of the backwaters and is a casual place . This opens up late night and starts business from 9 pm onwards. The rates were reasonable at first but now they have increased it a bit. Each place costs over 100 now. The ambience is good and there is a waiting time of 10-15 minutes at peak hours. Usually crowded ,good taste and service . The place is close to the kumbalam toll plaza on the NH bypass. Go for the ambience and taste if you are a puttu lover.
