Over priced food. Also, there is a Kerala touch to most of the dishes. It’s doesn’t seem like a complete Chettinad restaurant. Ambience is good.
Food was not that good depending on the cost.mutton chukka we ordered was not cooked properly .the anjapar biriyani lack in flavours.the gheerice was okai kind.the only dish we liked a bit was porotta and chicken chettinad curry.we went there with lot of expectation bec we had tried them in bangslore but was really disappointed. And as foodie i can only give them one r two star’s max. Bec of the taste of food lacks chettinad flavours.
Anjappar is located at one of the most busiest and popular places in Kochi, Edapally LULU Mall. It was one of my favourite lunch places as their non veg thali’s were pretty good at a time. I am a fan of spicy food so this place was apt for it. But recently my husband and I had visited anjappar and we realized that they had hiked the prices for all their dishes to a point where we thought it was better to go to the neighboring Punjab grill restraunt ( which is fine dining). Anjappar is not a fine dining restraunt and we were surprised to see the increase in rates.Anyhow, we decided we’d go with the chettinad chicken masala and some Paratha and Naan. The chettinad chicken masala was about 300 something rupees and we were under the impression that atleast the quantity would be worth the price and Paratha and nans were priced 20/30 and 50 each. Once the order came in we were pretty unhappy with the dish as it was overpriced for the quantity and taste they provide.Taste was good for people who like spicy food.Honestly, anjappar has become overpriced for the service and quantity of food they provide. If anyone is ready to eat here might as well spend 100 rupees more and go to punjab grill where the quality and quantity of food is probably 2 to 3 steps higher than that of this place.Disappointing.
Had a bad experience with the service. The food is terribly overpriced. But the taste is pretty decent and it is conveniently located in Lulu mall. (And don’t order North Indian food or expect a conventional biryani, it’s chettinad cusine!!)
Terrible experience. The food was cold and tasteless. The AC wasn’t working and served fish with veg meals. Charges a premium for this pathetic experience.
