Taco Bell is one the few fast food joints in Kochi whose launch I was highly anticipating and so ended up frequenting ever since it opened up. During our initial (back to back) visits, we were totally bowled over by the quality of the food. Fast forward a couple of months, when I got back to Kochi, we headed here again and were served a rather mediocre meal. The difference was so stark that we thought we wouldn’t be coming back. But then, a few weeks later, we were coerced into dropping by for dinner by friends who hadn’t been here yet and we were back to loving Taco Bell again – the food was that good!We’ve stopped by a few more times since and seem to have developed a sort of love-hate relationship with this joint. A couple of our regular orders include the Naked Chicken Taco and the 2 Tacos (Non-Veg) Meal, opting for the Mexican Chicken & Fajita Chicken Soft Shell Tacos. We’ve also tried the 7 Layer Burrito in Fajita Chicken as well as the Chickstar Wrap. Both were pretty decent but the Naked Chicken Taco is by far our favorite. The Mexican Fries are delicious and definitely the side you want to go for when opting for a meal. The Nachos frankly, need some work while the Crispy Chicken (3 pc) with Spicy Ranch Sauce is pretty decent. They also have a selection of dips – Nacho Cheese, Salsa, Guacamole and Sour Cream, of which we’ve tried the Nacho Cheese and Guacamole which are both average, nothing special.One great thing about Taco Bell is definitely the Free Refills! Tried the Strawberry Freeze which is pretty average. Would stick to Pepsi/Mountain Dew instead. The service here is great and the staff is super friendly. It’s usually got a bit of a crowd so it might get packed during peak hours since it’s a rather average sized space. The decor is funky with good seating, giving out a better vibe than most fast food places. It’s definitely worth checking out and if you’re lucky, you might end up going on one of the good days!
