It was our time for team lunch and my manager told me to finalise a place. Oh man! I was in a dilelmma as there was yen number of options around. I was also worried that if my choice goes wrong and my colleagues don’t like the food. After many enquiries we fixed for Olivia restaurant in Olive downtown and yes it was a good choice. They have a large spread of dishes from various cuisines and a quite good number of deserts. Taste was up to the mark and the ambience was also nice. Got a very good feed back from team, they loved the place and the food. Price is also reasonable only INR 707 incld tax
We went to Olivia for Sunday lunch buffet and the food was very good, like international hotels standard, with different seasonings on food so not all dishes tastes the same. The variety of buffet was quite good also. They have many veg dishes and rices (Kerala rice, steamed, veg pulao, egg fried) and we also some international like ratatouille, veg tempura, salads. The non veg were malabar mutton biriyani, chilly beef (it was soft and delicious), chicken kebab, duck in a coconut gravy, tapioca with fish curry. They also had two non veg salad: Israeli chicken salad and Japanese beef salad (amazing!). For desert ice creams, blueberry cheesecake, cakes, Indian sweets, fruits and paysam. We spent 1,650 including drinks and taxes, for two. Worth the money.

Situated in one of the most crowded places in Kochi, but the moment you step inside its altogether a different place.We went for the daily lunch Buffett. The starters were really good especially the chicken items.It included 2 soups, 4-5 veg, and nonveg starters, most of the Indian breads, rice, pulao, and noodles and a quite good number of deserts.
We went for the daily buffet, which included 4 non-veg dishes (Chicken gravy, Beef dry, Duck gravy, Fish gravy), 7 veg dishes, and the usual Indian breads along with rice, pulao, noodles and 2 soups. The dessert menu was pretty ok with a couple of choices of ice cream and pastry. Although the overall buffet experience can only be called slightly above average, it does justice to the price.
One of the best buffet’s I’ve come across in Kochi till now. The dishes differ every week and yet the taste is not compromised. Hats off to Chef Shyju and team for maintaining the quality of food throughout. The only glitch I found was the dessert bar. The variety of desserts could be improved, especially since the chef’s signature choco lava cake has never come up at the dessert bar.
Olivia is a buffet restaurant at Hotel Olive Downtown at Kadavanthra Junction. Had dinner buffet there recently. lts a nice cozy place on the second floor of the hotel. There was not many people when we walked in at 8PM. Service was excellent throughout. They have a very elaborate buffet spread with 2 soups, 4/5 starters of both veg and non veg, lots of options in main course with lots and lots of desserts. Definitely a place to try within the city if you are looking for buffet.
