The place with absolute poor service, may it be home delivery or at the spot. I have never experienced such poor service in any of the restaurants in South Bombay. De-grading is their speciality..
Was here today late afternoon for lunch. Ordered Bombay special on their recommendation along with Chkn sukha and Malabari roti. Bombay special was yum, very different gravy and d chkn pieces were first cooked separately either in tandoor/grill or masala fried/sauted?? and then put in d gravy thus giving that rich gammy taste. In fact we contemplated if it was meat. Chkn sukha was just above average, taste came because of thoroughly caramelized crispy onion. Mallabari roti was soft and perfect. When we ran short of gravy, we were given free of charge additional one small bowl but different gravy, tht too was tasty, typically Malvani style, after all this is a Keralite owned joint, so coconut will speak in most dishes. Ambiance average, service good, small cramped place. They gave half portion of both above dishes, blessing as we then ordered two different dishes. Worth visiting and pocket friendly. Its hidden a bit, take lane immediately after BOI.
I have not been to this place, but ordered from here on a night out working at the Office. The food seemed cheap and also, the reviews seemed good(on the ordering app). So I decided to take a leap of faith not knowing how this place or how it was rated or even listed on Zomato. My hunch was right and we got served some amazing food. The packing was not the best as almost all the things were wrapped in paper, which certainly not the most hygienic. The delivery was a bit late, since maybe he got lost not knowing where to come exactly. But the food was still really hot when it came. We had a makkhani gravy and kerala parotha along with biryani. The biryani was okay, with pieces being tender and succulent but overall rice lacking a bit of flavour. The parotha and gravy went together awesomely and just loved it. Later only did I realize that it is a full on Mallu place and do plan to try it again for the proper Kerala food next time.I do recommend this place, maybe not to visit given how it does not look the most appetising, but definitely for delivering.
this place has since forever been a safe haven for all the Keralite immigrants who just landed at Mumbai and found it hard to cope up with the shift in cuisine.the malabar chicken biryani is genuinely malayali. i love the parotta-chicken combination over here, just like all the malayalees living in south mumbai.the interiors are not family friendly however. this restaurant was made to appeal for the working office going public to quickly eat and go during their lunch hours.i have always ordered from here. they give free delivery for bulk orders.
If you love fish varieties its a good option, with Surmai and other varieties to offer. For chicken there are lot of varieties i like Chicken sukka also you will get lot of varieties in Malabar style i.e. pathiri etc. Location is nearby CST and economical.
