We wanted to spent our evening at a nice restaurant, after a lot of r & d we thought going to one of the oldest Chinese restaurant was a good idea. And indeed it was a good decision. Our normal course would have been a dumpling after much thought we ordered something called as song of dragon, a very nice dish indeed. And the quantity was quite good as well. For a next course we ordered pan fried noodles which was served with a very nice gravy. A good experience overall.
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night for dinner. The staff here is friendly and service was at a good pace for a fine dine.To start off my meal, I had the crispy shredded potato, crispy vegetables in konjeenaro sauce and stir fried vegetables. I liked all of them, especially the crispy vegetables and the shredded potato. The potato had a unique taste and flavour and is a must try.For mains I went with the Three flavour noodles and burnt garlic rice which were again very good, but nothing special or outstanding about them compared to the price. I paired them up with Mala tofu, assorted vegetables in pickled chilli and eggplant tobaijan. The mala tofu and eggplant are a must have. The tofu was melt in mouth and the eggplant was in a way that I’ve never had before. Soft and subtle flavour. For the dessert I finished my meal off with Beijing Milk cake, chilled longon and Date pancake. I loved the milk cake but the date pancake was average. The chilled longon is basically Lichi dipped in some essence. Decent taste. For the price, the food is fairly decent but the experience is what Taj is truly known for, and it delivers it. Also, the kimchi on the table is fabulous, do give it a try.
I have always been a fan of authentic chinese food and this place fullfils my fantasy of satisying my tastebuds with the amazing lip smacking food. The Dim-Sums here are extraordinally good and worth a try. Overall food is also amzing with a beautiful ambience, privacy and sophistication.
Two styled wontons are really good, both types of gravy are delicious. Golden dragon special noodles and rice are also good. Chocolate flavoured toffee is the best dessert.
Been only once there, but agree with Zeel Shah. Excellent hospitality and ambience. Staff really deserves hats-off. Food is 4-star. However, the freshness and quality of ingredients make them class apart from others. My all-time favourites are dim-sums.
