I went to Harish Lunch Home with high expectations given the excellent reviews that it has, both here and on blogs of repute. However, I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered a Bombil fry along with Surmai gassi and neer dosa. The curry was overcooked and the neer dosas cold and rubbery. Shockingly, the Bombil fry was raw from the inside! The servers and management seemed indifferent and uninterested in putting out a quality meal. The place is rough around the edges in a slightly seedy way (with middle aged men drinking whisky at mid-day) and lacks the charm, or warm hospitality, of other old school hole in the wall places that seem like throwbacks to the 80s/90s. I would recommend you go to Fresh Catch or Chaitanya any day and give Harish Lunch Home a miss. Come to think of it, I would steer clear of seafood in the Fort area altogether as it doesn’t seem to match the excellent choices on offer in Mahim/Dadar.
