This is one of the best parsi cafe’s I’ve come across. Quiche, lemon tart and mint tea are must try. Affordable, clean, tasty and authentic this describes piccolo Cafe. The best part is everyday they get fresh stock from Ratan Tata Institute, max. 1 or 2 of each dish. This way everytime you go there’s some new offering. Do visit for lunch or a quick snack!

Piccolo is a small but neat cafe run by the Ratan Tata Institute (RTI) and is located near Horniman Circle. It has been around for a very long time (my dad used to come here with his colleagues in his younger days) and still continues to attract a steady number of customers, mostly Parsis or those wanting to try Parsi cuisine. From the look of it, Piccolo seems more like a takeaway place (which it definitely does offer) but once inside, you realise that there’s more to it. There’s no standard menu for food. One just needs to look out for the food displayed at their counter (for the menu of the day) and make a choice. We went there today, in the mood for some Dhansak and brown rice but unluckily it wasn’t there on the menu of the day. So we settled with Jeera rice and Yellow masoor daal along with chapati and Tandoori Paneer Masala. The veg puff was flaky and could have been better. However, full marks to their service which was very warm and helpful. The pricing is spot on and you can have a good feast there and not feel it too hard on the pocket, which is a very good thing for a dining place at such a prime location. There’s so much more to try at Piccolo and I’m glad to have taken my first step in here finally. Looking forward to more.

I pass by this place everyday but never think of going in since I had a very bad experience of eating rum ball and chocolate pastry here. It was the worst dessert I have ever had till now. I decided to visit this place for lunch. There were options like the continental chicken with noodles, some chicken curry with rice or roti , etc. I ordered the continental chicken. They usually precook it and just heat it up in oven and serve. So when that happened with my order, the rosemary in chicken got so bitter that it was inedible. But I tried eating some since it was Rs 217 for one order. !The guy at reception is very rude. Like very very rude ! He gave away change counting Rs 20 less in total. I really would have appreciated some good behavior and edible food. Not great but at least edible. PLEASE DO NOT EVEN THINK OF VISITING THIS PLACE. !

A cafe with a homely feel & simple food. Located very close to BSE in fort. With just 4 tables this cafe caters mainly too locals & office goers. A very limited menu comprises of, pies sandwiches cutlets & daily meals. I loved this cafe for, its simplicity & humble hospitality.

Always wanted to try this place as it’s near my office. I just got to try their puff which was nice. There were many options for pastry and other sweets. Will surely try their lunch options next time. It’s clean and small place to sit as well. Not much crowded tho. But closes early..

A small Parsi place in the chaos of Fort. The lunch menu is different every day and its truly Parsi. Good for the pocket and for the taste buds. The mutton cutlet is just amazing and value for money. Tarts are yummy and they have a small and big size so that adds more flexibility. You would generally bump into cute old Parsi men and women having their lunch and that just adds to the aura of the place. Definitely a visit in this madness of Fort.

Original Parsi Food, I go there very often for the Parsi Omlet, Chicken Roll, Chocolate Tarts and Chicken Farcha. Tasty and the prices are reasonable. Not for people who like chatpata or spicy food. The desserts are also decent and offer a small variety of desserts for your sweet tooth. Other things to try on their menu is the Chicken/Mutton Cutlets, the meals and original dhansak. The ambiance is really quiet and the place has the old classy look to it. Should definitely try it if your going by Fort Area.
