Service quality at Konkan cafe was exceptional and reflective of Taj hospitality. However the prawn gassi did not have the gassi taste at all. The lamb chops were lamb cutlets and whiile it was crisp on the outside it was soft inside – we were expecting chops and not cutlets. The chicken item was good. The service was exceptional and they did bring a small cake for the ocassion we were celebrating – reflective of Taj hospitality and culture.

Tucked into a corner of the president is this jewel of a restaurant, as you walk into it you’ll be taken aback by how well laid out it is and just how nicely the ambience is done up.The staff is as you’d expect flawless and on point for everything, a truly great service experience is provided.As for the food, it’s simply amazing. From the multiple chutneys you get to the curries and so much more, it’s truly a delight for you mouth.The whole synergy of the food and way the place is done play along wonderfully and make the entire experience rememberable.For your food choices I’d honestly suggest going with what your server recommends as they have a very good knowledge of the seasonal variety of some of the dishes.The only downside for me was that I did find it slightly overpriced, but then again it is an experience that is well worth the money.
the Kokan cafe was a wierd choice for us, considering we are pure vegetarians. Even though the options were limited for us, we has a decent meal. Special mention for the staff. They were very nice
The methi dal and bhendi sabzi along with the non veg thali was really sad. The fish was not changed even after complaining that it was smelly. The new lot of the same fish was served. Don’t think I’ll go there again
Starting with the service and ambience.. i would have given 4 or 5 stars. Vikram did a great job in serving us. He was so vigilant and anticipated needs. However, what disappointed us were few food items. The green masala wasnt tasting konkan at all. The chicken starter we ordered had an average taste like a chicken 65. What you can surely try is any food in coastal spices red masala, malwan prawns fry and the jalebi – kulfi. They were tasty.
Good food and good ambience. A visit is a must! The thali are delicious and wholesome . Ala carte menu is good too. And if it’s your special day let them know. They do a remarkable performance of singing celebratory songs. Go celebrate
