This is a small restaurant in near my place and I go there quite often. The food quality is not that great compared to the price they ask. Mostly it’s too oily and spicy. The special matka biryani is probably the only dish that I liked after trying out so many of the dishes there. There are around 6 tables on the footpath where you can sit and dine. The lunch thalis are not that bad though. Price initially will seem to be cheap but compared to the quality of food, you might just feel that it would have been better had you tried something better even spending a little more.
Light on your pocket. Food is okayish, taste not according to what the menu claims. I ordered chicken kolhapuri, didn’t taste anything like it but it was good otherwise.
We ordered non veg Punjabi thali. It was good not really bad like you saw many comments here. Not the best but worth the price. This is cheap place to eat good Punjabi food. Over all I liked their chicken masala And would come again.
We went expecting great food but we got great bill with a vey small bowl of chicken achari costing 250 bucks and it was too sour better to go to hotel RATNA which is few kms from there never going back at rangda punjab
Again, a quick walk from the university, and not too hard on your pocket, just the place a normal, hostel residing student would love! The just 2 reviews which were there before I wrote this one, well actually even before I visited the place, were quite discouraging. But while enjoying a pleasant evening walk through the area, the giant orange board, boasting ‘RANGDA PUNJAB’ seemed inviting. After going through its good range of menu, I decided to try it out.I think theres some issue with the name of the restaurant. On Zomato, as well as the entrance of the outlet,it says ‘Ragda Punjab’ where as all the menu state that its ‘Rangla Punjab’. Not that it matters much, and Shakespere had himself said, but still its better this mistake gets rectified soon!So just a couple of days back I decided to pay them a visit for dinner. While I reached there by 8 pm, I was their only costumer, but within a period of just 20 minutes there wasnt a single vacant table left! I dont know why such a popular looking place isnt getting any reviews, come on guys be a sport and try it out!It just doesnt have any ambiance, tables and chairs laid out under the sun. I hope they provide with some sort of shelter/roof during rains to their patrons. A minimal of just diwali lighting looks simple and good. With just about 6 tables, the place atleast isnt conjusted. Being alone for the meal that evening, I went for a Butter chicken and butter phulkas. I really wanted to try out their chicken, and butter chicken was the only boneless option, so has to go for that. They serve punjabi subjis in small, medium and large qunatities, each enough for a consecutive multiple of two. My order didnt take long to prepare, and the my nose enjoyed the aroma even before my eyes can take in the delicious view! It sure looked really tempting and colourful, with the red, spicy looking gravy, a bit of cream, butter and green coriander for dressing, a real treat! I was actually skeptical weather I would be able to eat the whole portion by myself, but the only thing that made it possible was its yummy taste. Theres a pet shop just next to it, and the lovely chirping of birds makes a greaf background music to dine in. The gravy, which I taught would be spicy, and not sweet-creamy like its supposed to be, was spicy but in a really tasty way. Thick gravy, with quite a generous amount of chicken chunks, which were actually boneless(in refrence to a review I read which mentioned that they served him non-boneless chicken even though he had ordered its counterpart.) I sure loved it,and it went really good with warm butter phulkas! My 1st visit made me leave with a really really full tummy, and great exprience. The very next evening, I and my friend taught of indulging ourselves in some good, affordable chicken dish and so we cameback here again. This time we went for CHICKEN HANDI with regular phulkas. As I mentioned earlier, this was not a boneless dish, so I wasnt quite fond of it. Quantity, check. Good taste, check. Value for money check! I also ordered a CHICKEN MANCHURIAN, and last night I saw someone order veg manchurian its quantity was really hefty, and thats the reason I went for its non-veg counter part. But it turned out, that it hardly even had 10 pieces in it. Apart for that, it was really hard to chew. Although it had a normal chinese flavour, it actually was too spicy due to a bit excess use of green chillies. This dish really disappointed me!If I would have stopped at punjabi that night, this placd would really fare a bit better than it did now. Comparing to the price you are paying, which I feel are already quite inexpensive, the quality, and obiously the quanitity is really good. So if you are planning to slack off some evening, then this place is quite good for a yummy meal with a variety of options on the menu!Happy Burping!!!
Average taste of food. Tables are usually covered in dust as it is having an open sitting area. Order north indian food only. Biryani etc aren’t good to taste here.
