I waited a bit before writing this because I was very hungry when I went and didn’t want hunger to color my review. It actually affected my experience because I gobbled the food up instead of savoring each morsel. The menu has my top 3 favorites. Carpaccio, octopus and pork belly. All 3 were sublime to say the least. Epic more likely. There is no alcohol.. A wine or beer would have been perfect but that does not take anything away from the food. Had the sea bass mains which had a tough act to follow, but it put up a great effort.Go there. Spend some time with the menu. You won’t be disappointed.

La Loca Maria is a small spanish themed restaurant opened in Bandra West. Chef Manuel Oliviera has opened a tapas style menu, which takes me back to Barcelona. Although with a limited menu, some of the star dishes are well-renowned so I already had an idea about what i wanted to eat. The decor inside is very nice and quaint. The mural in front of you is very chic and beautiful too. Very Spanish, much wow so far! I came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday with my friends. Pineapple basil fizz (4/5): Since they don’t serve alcohol, I decided to go for this cooler. Although I generally avoid drinks that have soda in them, this one is a big exception. The flavors inside are balanced with the sweetness of lemonade and sourness of the pineapple. Great drink and very refreshing.Char grilled Octopus (5/5): A signature dish and very popular in Mumbai right now. I have had squid before, so I expected something similar from this dish. But this dish was beyond what I had imagined. Firstly, kudos to the presentation of not just this but all the other dishes too. Secondly, wow! The smokiness of the lamb is not overpowering at all, added to that the octopus was grilled so well, It had the right amount of bite without being chewy. Along with it the small mashed potatoes were bursting with flavor, so ti really made for a scintillating start to my lunch.Stick Pork Belly (5/5): If you could imagine how right you can get a dish, then this definitely stands in the top bracket. The pork was easy to picky off, the fat was delcious, the meat melted and the glaze outside was on another level. The sauces on the side just added to the dish and brough it all together.Mushroom croquettes with truffle (4/5): I am not sure if there was any truffle in this, but man a great choice for all. The croquettes were crunchy with a warm, yummy stuffing of mushroom on the inside. A great bite without really being too heavy.Chicken wings (3.5/5): The meat was succulent, but I think because the dishes before were so good this one sort of was underwhelming. The sauce was sweet and a little spicy. To be honest, the wings weren’t bad if it was at any other place or a bar, but after eating the other exceptional dishes, we probably felt a little let down.Gambas (4/5): Grilled prawn in a garlic oil was amazing. The bread on the side to wipe all that sauce/oil was a great touch. Always been a fan of this dish, and this place does it really well. The prawn was cooked really well, easy to bite it off without being too chewy. The sauce had a nice sourness to it, but still with the added flavor of garlic made sure the flavors were balanced. A very wholesome dish without being too oily. Asparagus risotto with mental shavings (4/5): The risotto was really well made. I am not a fan of risotto in general, but this was really yummy. Along with the generous shaving of cheese on top, it made me warm on the inside with every bite. Lobester Ravioli (3/5): The first big disappointment of the afternoon as I had high expectations. This dish was another one recommended by various folks. Although the texture of each element was good, but I just didn’t feel like it was a standout dish. The ravioli was al dente, the lobster was well-cooked but I felt a nice buttery stuffing would have made it even better. The sauce on the side had an umame/ sour taste to eat but it had a slight overpowering taste to it. Fish Burger (2.5/5): I love burgers so I was excited for this one, but thoroughly disappointed. I would want to come back here for the meat burgers as I don’t generally think fish are meant to be in a burger. Anyway, I felt the patty was a little bland and not really seasoned right. It was pretty genericTiramisu (5/5): This is a deconstructed Tiramisu. What is unique about this is the cracker/foam like texture in the middle. You can break it with a spoon, but it doesn’t completely destroy the biscuit and it still is crispy. The creamy element in the middle was perfectly sweetened, and there was a lovely caramelized ice cream on the side. Every bite into this dessert elevated my taste buds and the dish.Overall: 3.5/5 Amazing appetizers and the dessert, but the mains were very disappointing.Ambience: 4.5/5It’s a lovely place which gave me a very Spanish feel tooService: 5/5Food is served quick, and the dish is plated like a dreamI recommend you to stick to the appetizers, and the char grilled octopus and the pork belly alone is worth coming to this place.

Went to try this new joint in bandra , we were seated outside the weather was pleasant so it was a great atmosphere. We ordered the spicy chicken wings , the truffle fries and the beef burgers. Food was really good but I think we all expected it to be wow which it wasn’t. I would still go there again to try other stuff from the menu. The service was excellent!!

Amazing, fresh, delicious food. Each dish was perfectionThe open kitchen allows us to have a peak into the magic and artwork that goes into creating each dish before it comes out.Yes , the menu is limited , but it most definitely lacks nothing. The mushroom truffle croquettes were so perfectly gooey and crisp at the same time with an addictive aroma of truffle. The prawns were sweet and drenched in spicy olive oil and crispy garlicSpicy chicken wings – yum!The snapper was refreshing and lightChicken burger with bacon – melt in the mouth goodness. The best part about Bandra is the smallest and cutest places serve the most delicious food. Fresh, brilliant food from the best of ingredients. Had an amazing lunch at the newly opened La Loca María in Bandra. Ordered the popular prawns Ajillo for starters. Must say it was very authentic in taste with superb flavours. This was followed by the lobster ravioli which was a bit bland compared to the prawns. Still very good to taste. The next dish was the braised beef. This was awesome. Never had such tender meat. The best was saved for last. Dessert was tiramisu. Words cannot describe how good it was. This came with a home made coffee ice cream. Something you can never get anywhere else. Nice dense ice cream. Very good service and a homely ambience. The chef Manuel who is the owner has a very pleasant personality and is very approachable. The only minus point is that there is no valet parking in a very busy street. You have to be lucky to find parking.

A cosy and comfortable place that needs prior table reservation but is totally worth it! We went there specially for the charred octopus and absolutely LOVED IT!The texture of the meat is smooth, the aroma makes you want to relish every last bite and the presentation encourages you to lick the plate clean! My highlight was the Tiramasu that tasted as amazing as it looked because it literally melts it your mouth! The best that I’ve eaten so far.We also had the BFF carpaccio, Gambas al ajillo (prawns) and sticky pork belly! Each dish totally worth it! The staff is extremely well trained, well informed and very polite.Combining my mini meals with cold brew was the best decision ever! An absolutely MUST VISIT for meat lovers!
