The service was pathetic. The staff who took our order was very rude. I asked for a glass for my beer but never got one. We had to literally shout to get attention. Staff kept talking amongst themselves and didn’t bother to attend the tables. We spent quite sometime deciding on which craft beer to have only to find out that none of them were available. I called for water and did not get it till I had to remind them thrice. The food options are minimal with nothing exciting. Everything we tried. 1. Vegan choriz tapas2. Bell pepper, onion and goat cheese mini pizza3. Hot chipotle potato tomme burger4. Thick cut fries with truffle oil 5. Eight finger Eddie beer from GoaThe only good thing about the place is that it is on Gourmet passport.
We visited Boston Butt recently. We had booked a table well in advance but were kept waiting for an hour beyond that. Why take bookings if this is how you function? Also no attention was paid to us when we were asking for a table or for our order during this while. So infuriating. While we were waiting we ordered for a Fries Platter as we were starving and mind you it took over half an hour to get it. Can you believe it? By this point our experience was completely ruined. After an hour of waiting we were given our table and then the fries after repeated reminders. Also mind you no one will even serve you or ask you for a glass of water before, during or even after the meal. Also they did not have any of the beers we asked for available that day.Now coming to the food:Noble Peace Fries: A platter of assorted fries including onion rings, jalapeño poppers, nachos and fries. It was served with a dip. Honestly the quantity of the platter was so less, we didn’t even get one entire piece of each variety between the four of us. And the dip was really less as well. Taste wise the platter was decent.4 Cheese ‘Mac & Cheese’: If you love cheese, this one is for you. Enjoyed this dish and was not bland due to the combination of cheese. Again bad quantity though.Cheese Chilly Garlic Pizza: We had two of these. It’s a thin crust pizza with garlic and chilly. It’s definitely on the spicier side but pretty yum. Really small size again.5 hrs Smoked Jerk Spiced Chicken: Definitely worth a try. This was really well made. The chicken was served between a bun of bread along with some sides on the platter. The quantity seemed less but this was the best dish we had here. Worth a try!Apart from this we had 3 alcoholic drinks as well. Those were alright.Even after all these dishes none of us were even close to full. And yet we paid about a 1000 per head.Overall this place has pretty decent food but the service was bad along with not much worth for money due to the quantities served. These aspects make it a bit of a let down.
A chill, cozy place to hangout on a weekday! Not a very family friendly place! Much for the younger crowd! The food overall was a bit average! We tried two pizzas, the chilly garlic one and the veggie one. They are super thin and small and not crispy at all! Although the taste was pretty decent. We tried the nachos which was good! Comes with 3-4 various dips and we also tried the Mac a pav which was basically Mac and cheese with some bread! That was good! They have their tap beer and we tried the vanilla Porter one! Which was pretty good!Only complaint is that some of their beers and food were mostly not available! So we had a very limited option to choose from! But overall, perfect evening place after a hectic day of work!
Went for lunch at Boston butt in Pali and they had a special Thanksgiving decor and menu set up. However I ordered from the traditional menu.We tried, the jerk chicken. It is served on a open pav with lovely pulled chicken. It is sweet and spicy and has tons of pepper in it. Pretty tastyWe also ordered the long Island iced tea and it was a potent knockout. Totally recommend you try this out.We also had the spaghetti pasta which was extreme the divine. Made like a traditional aglio olio pasta, it had sundried tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. Quite yummy. You should try it.Lastly the desert stole the show. The cheesecake was so good. The raspberry flavour intense and tart and the cheesy baked middle was the perfect complement to it. Going for seconds for sure.I would like to thank our server Phy- phy who was such a blessing. She was very attentive, knowledgeable, gave great suggestions and insured we had great time.
‘Boston Butt’ – A peculiar name when you hear it but translated it simply means a cut of pork from the upper part of shoulder from the front leg! They shifted to Bandra in the heart of Pali village roughly 6 months back from their Kalaghoda establishment and we happened to find ourselves here on a Saturday afternoon.Apparently they are Mumbai’s first and only Smokery & charcuterie restaurant; a form of cooking that dates back to 15th century. The menu boasts about meat products that are cured & aged for over 60+ days and slow cooked to perfection and served on the plate; that’s the signature of this place! We called for a Non-Alcoholic cocktail ‘Masala Daddy’ an Indian chaat spiced drink mixed with cumin & coriander with cranberry juice as the main blend; served in a jazzy glass this was a perfect drink to get our taste buds rolling.‘Lean Whiskey Sour’ from their lean Cocktail section, yes they have a section of cocktails boasting of under 99 calories and we couldn’t be more happier trying it out. We absolutely loved their leaned version and there was no change in the taste or the blend than the regular Whiskey Sour. My personal favorite cocktail of all time and if you are a fan of Whiskey based cocktails this one should be on your list while visiting here.We paired our drinks with a ‘7 Hours Low & Slow smoked Pork Ribs’ opted for the St. Louis style glaze version (You can also opt for Dry Rub). 2 portion of well-cooked glazed ribs served on a wooden board with a side of coleslaw, beans & a toast. The tender meat simply fell of the bone and the creamy beans went well with the toast. Must Try if Ribs catches your fancy! From their bread section ‘Buff Half Pounder Cheese Burger’ was all I could have asked for, this triple layered juicy patty came soaked in its own juices and an overload of cheese with caramelized onions stuffed in between soft burger buns and were accompanied with larger than usual but crispy & perfect fries. The ‘Blackened Grilled Chicken’ caught our attention from their large plate section and even though it took us a wait time of 30 minute but was worth the wait. A whole juicy leg & thigh portion grilled to a dark skinned coat but the insides were tender & moist, served with a huge piece of baked sweet potato topped with cheddar & sour cream made this one a wholesome meal.Limited choices for sweet tooth addicts but a ‘Freshly Baked Skillet with Chocolate Chip Cookie & Ice-creams (Vanilla Bean/Salted Caramel/Chocolate)’ with a preparation time of 25 minutes got us covered. A sugary surprise and good enough for sharing between 2-4 people. USP was this being served on a hot pan so the cookies remain hot the ice cream melts soon enough and you don’t get a crunchy feeling. One of the best sellers at The Boston Butt and do give it a try!Dining at The Boston Butt came as a different experience altogether; the flavors are more prominent and meat has a superior texture to them and the overall service (Thanks to Miss Phyphy) was great too! Will be definitely visiting again to try their other smoked offerings !!!
Went for their Sunday brunch and ordered their Breakfast Martini – highly recommended 🙂 It’s made with Monkey 47 gin and fresh orange juice. Super refreshing and a great pick me up. I also tried their wheat beer which was okayish. The food was the real show stopper though. We had the chicken and waffles, steak carne asada and the slow cooked smoked pork ribs.Their meat game is totally on point!!! Tender and succulent cuts of meat that have been marinated and cooked to perfection! Yum!A few disclaimers though:1. It’s not really a place for vegetarians :)2. They respect their cuts of meat and therefore don’t do too much to it – the predominant focus is on the flavour of the meat itself. So it you’re not into having grilled or cooked meats that have been minimally flavoured, this place is not for you.Personally, 5 stars to The Boston Butt. You’re food is right up my alley! Hope to visit again soon.
The Boston Butt is really a great place to spend time with friends and your loved ones. It’s not too big so booking tables in advance is highly recommended. The ambience is rustic and not too dull.Going towards the food, our orders were as follows:1.Mozzarella chilly was really not something I liked and we started with that and got skeptical about rest of the dishes.2. Second a friend ordered for tikka tacos and we all being hardcore Non-vegetarian I thought the taco would be chickin tikka, later when the dish came we saw it was paneer. As we had the taco we were really amazed by the taste and texture of paneer. It was amazing. I would highly recommend this.3. We ordered for chicken with waffles and maple syrup. This was a shocker again. The well spiced chicken went so good with drizzled syrup and the waffle. I would like to add that these waffles were one of the best waffles I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!3. We ordered for chicken homemade nachos. The place kept surprising us with it’s creativity. The nachos came with 4 dips which were piped on the nachos. Though it looked beautiful but it somewhere made the taste and autheniticy of those dips lose their real charm. Yet it was really good and very heavy for a table of 3.4. We ordered for bbq ribs and it was well cooked ribs. Loved it.5. We also ordered for bacon with sea salt nutella and maple syrup. We loved the combination of nutella and bacon. I don’t like maple syrup much so i would have loved if i had got 2 dips of nutella. Again the portion of bacon was too much for us. Must try.6. Pulled chicken between breads were so fine and was marinated so well in chinese 5spices. People who love 5 spices. Should surely try this.7. We had to order steak in the end. Not many place in Mumbai serves a nice medium rare steak. The people in Boston Butt do deliver a great plate of steak.Overall loved every bit of the experience and looking forward to explore more from the menu of theirs.Highly recommended!!Kudos team Boston Butt
