Deewan Khana is a place if you are craving for some authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. This is one of the much-needed Maharastrian fine dine restaurant around Balewadi High Street. The ambience with low wooden ceiling along with colorful hanging lanterns and lighting gives you a wonderful and royal experience. I loved the ambience, very relaxing though. We started with a glass of Sol Kadhi. Sol kadhi is a must-try over here and it was a perfect coolant to the scrumptious spicy food. .Then from the starters here is a glimpse of what i had tried:1.Mutton Chops Hirwa Masala-The spice blend was really good and the mutton pieces were soft. This is highly recommended for starters.2.Kala Sukka Chicken-This was very yummy and the chicken pieces were soft and juicy. It had a burst of flavors! From the Vegetarian starters , do try out their Veg Vaati and Kothimbir Vadi. The Kothimbir Vadi was a delicious savory crisp snack.I loved the D.K special Chicken starter which was properly cooked. Moving over from the main course,we tried and loved their Chicken Rojali, Sangameshwari Chicken (coconut-and-cashew-based chicken dish), Coconut wala Sahalyatli Kombdi and Gharghuti Chicken Rassa. These curry were paired with roti and they tasted really well providing an ultimate Maharashtrian spread. Their veg and non-veg thali is the USP of this place and it’s highly recommended. The entire meal ended on a sweet, sweet note with their Gajar Halwa, Chikki Ice-cream and Khawa Poli. The service was top notch and had a wonderful experience. All in all, any foodie looking forward to a Maharashtrian fine dining experience, do visit.Happy Eating!Follow @yummydelightsdiary on Instagram

Personal Rating is as followFood Quality: 5/5Service: 4/5Ambienjoceu: 4/5Location: 4/5Value for Money: 5/5We had Mutton thali and Chicken thali on our table and I was on for Mutton.Perfectly cooked/boiled Mutton which doubles your joy. Mutton sukka and Mutton kima had good taste. Aalni rassa which they termed as Aalni soup was delicious. All this with Bhakri and jeera rice makes perfect combo. Personally I don’t like tambda rassa in such awesome menu so don’t want to discuss it. Chikki ice-cream was unique item and liked to everyone. We liked the concept of crunchiness in ice cream. One must definitely try this. They have their own spacious parking compared to area and competitors. Ambience is nice and suits to the name of place. They do accept payment in cash, card, Paytm and UPI transactions.
Being in pune for almost 3 years now, i have become fond of maharashtrian cuisine and this place truly takes you to your roots if you are a localite.Through my food journey , i have realised that food is not just something that you mix some stuff up and cook it and eat it , food takes art , efforts ,precision and skills . Deewan khana with their special thalis and mouth watering starters tells the same story , i am a fond of sea food so as soon as i see fish and prawns in menu , i order! This time i had surmai fry and prawns fry , both were equally fresh and tasted good and authentic. The fresh green chutney served with them was really good and i would go back just for that.Kothimbir wadi – a local dish which is damn crispy from outside and doubly soft and gooey inside, This vegetarian starter could be the best i ever had in this category! chicken sukka kale was their signature and it is not meant for light hearted , the dish is damn spicy and makes your eyes wet in seconds, Loved it, Solkadhi which is something to marathis as what lassi is to punjabis is worth drooling over here . i love the taste of it . Raavan thali is a special item on the menu where you get varities of chicken and everything you could as for , it is a must try .Poornalu – To be honest , indian desserts always fascinate me and this one just hit a sixer , i have never tried such a scrumptious thing before , i dont know the origins of it but guessing the amount of ghee that was served along with it , i am guessing it is a south indian dessert. it was made from urad dal batter and fried , later poured with ghee and eaten sinfully . it is a must try out here !!Happy hogging 🙂
Hey friends i visited this place for a lunch. I was very excited to visit because of their ambiance. Its very royal and chilling. Its a huge place and almost 60-70 people can accomodate at once.1st thing we did is we met the owner, and came to knw that they make masalas in house rather than purchase it readymade. Also owner told us that she visited every region of Maharashtra and bring the reciepes of masalas. This is what makes their food so delicious.Service: This place serves you well in time. Bt food is nt coocked, they cook it when order comes. That makes food fresh and delicious.Food: we tried food from across all regions of maharashtra.1. Kothimbir Wadi: Crisp from outside and soft from inside. Medium spicy. Best dish to start2. Mutton Chaap: Soft tendor mutton coocked in green masala. It was medium spicy.3. Kale chicken Sukka: Chicken coocked in dark masala, it was best dish for me. Spicy, hot and juicy chicken.4. DK Specail Chicken: Its a chef special chicken starter. Amazing taste.5. Surmail Fry: Fresh fish fried to perfection. Try it and u can actually taste the flavours of fish with the masala. From Main Course:1. Raavan Thali: Its a nonveg thali which includes almost 10+ items. Like chicken sukka, chicken tangdi, tambda pandhra rassa, alani rassa, chicken masala,, etc. You need good nonveg comapny to finish this thali.2. Veg Thali: This is also special thali include variety of food.3. Pathare Prabhu: Its an authentic goan cuisin. Medium spicy chicken cooked in goan masalas. Thick redish gravy, tendor chicken, flavourfull on every bite.4. Shahalyatali Kombdi: This is an unique dish where chicke gets coocked in Coconut with the coconut water. And you can actually feel the taste of coconut water in that gravy.Soon they are going to have food fests with various tastes. So dont forget to visit themThank you for serving.Regards
This is one of the restaurants which serves authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. There are a few names of the dishes which you get to hear at this place only. The proprietor and the staff have done some research to come up with delicacies. The moment you enter the restaurant you will be greeted with a traditional Maratha style decor. The ambience is set in with the cuisine to match. The utensils are traditional and the staff is quick to explain the details of the ingredients and match your taste buds. There is live music on weekends. A must visit place for true Maharashtrian food lovers. Non-vegetarians have a real treat here. The only suggestion from my side would be – Restaurant should play the Maharashtrian folk music in the background (for which we are proud of) instead of Despatico!
