Patang located in Baner serves you a wide range of Indian, Chinese, Mughlai and Malwani cuisine. Our lunch session was just perfect in the restaurant. We started of with a pitcher of beer followed by a Chicken Crispy starter which was quite good in taste but a little low in quantity. The presentation was done right.Next up we went for the traditional Butter Chicken and Dal Khichadi. Both the dishes were hot and fresh. Full points for the quantity. The Dal Khichadi was outstanding. The fried garlic and tadka just enhanced the flavour. The chicken was tender and the gravy was rich in flavour. The staff is up on their feet and polite. Still a lot to explore in Patang. Till then eat good and spread the love.

#Biryani_And_Kebab_FestivalThe flight to delight soars high with Patang – A new face of foodgasm in baner. Recently attended their ongoing Biryani and kebab festival and witnessed the potential this place has to keep one mesmerized.Situated in Baner just inside the curve of the lane where one could see nirvana earlier. So Niravana is changed to Patang now ( Pun intended) This is the second food wonder by Chetan Zope after the success of Saffron on BPLR. He sure is a master of all arts when it comes to his restaurants. While our interaction during the tasting he revealed about his journey where he explored South India for the technique and styles for bamboo biryani/kebab and much more from the locals there. Thus the efforts taken are evident in the food served at Patang.>The Bamboo Biryani is the highlight of this festival and not to be missed. Aromas and flavors packed tactfully in the bamboo only to release pleasure when served. The desi Ghee kicks in a punch with each morsel slowly Undoubtedly one of the best biryanis in Pune now and definitely on my list of favorites.> The all new Sharabi Zhinga is amazing and will add applauds to your Instagram for sure. Spicy Prawns spiked with Tequila will make your taste buds jump with Joy.> My fav pick would be the Bhatti ka Murg – Tagde bulky Leg pieces marinated perfectly for that juicy flavorful experience. An amazing smoked chicken, nice tangy and spicy, Loved it the most.> Prawns desi Grill – Prawns charred interestingly in Malvani spices. Looked amazing and tasted really good.> Tandoori Pomfret – Do I really need to write about this?? Everyone who has been to saffron already know wat I’m saying. Those who haven’t yet – #itwasperfect> Bamboo Chicken Kebab – This kebab was one of its kind cooked for a variable time in bamboo. The use of manglorian spices complimented this technique completely resulting in an aromatic juicy chicken kebab. Thanks Chetan Zope , we all enjoyed your hosting and I loved the zeal for innovation in you. I cant wait for the seafood festival you mentioned and your planning about the fisherman’s theme.P.S – The festival ends on 31st OCT but they are planning to add the bamboo biryani to thier menu permanently.

#Biryani_is_an_EMOTION…. !!The eye-catching look of a well turned out biryani and aroma floating around, can drive anyone crazy, salivating and surge cravings. At least for me it’s insane love.Biryani can make me react in different ways! I can remain quiet, dedicated to eating, pin drop silence or I can turn into a social animal, eating and chatting up with my crazy friends/family/strangers. I develop tolerance level to such heights that I won’t even bat an eyelid, if my enemy is sitting besides me. Who cares.. this yummy stuff is all I need!We all have tried different versions of Biryani’s, why this one is special..?#Bamboo_Biryani is a part of their ongoing festival of Kebabs and Biryani at Patang Restro Bar . Recipe sourced from Tribal region in South India, The Mecca of Biryani.Chetan Zope (owner, who also own’s Saffron), personally visited S.India, stayed untill he learnt the technique of making different recipes using bamboo. Coming back with sourced raw ingredients and Bamboo from Northeast, India. With several trials, backfires and hits..He worked relantlessly and now ready to serve amche Punekaris.Explained by him how it is made :The hollow of a raw Bamboo is stuffed with marinated meat, spices, rice and ghee .No water. Sealed at ends with banana leaf. It is slow cooked in the tandoor, the steam is blocked allowing the biryani to cook within. Taking about 25/30 minutes i.e. untill the log is charcoal . The biryani now ready to be served to us.I eat with my hands, one bite and it blew me away. It was rich, aromatic and outstanding! I was emotional and I hogged. The kebab festival included the following which were served ….#Bhatti_ka_murg : We were told that all the Kebab preparation were marinated for 8/10 hrs. Outcome. This was a juicy chicken kebab with a spicy rub and the meat was falling off the bone.#Prawns_desi_grill : Tandoor preparation with malvani spices, soft and vanished in a jiffy. Oh so tasty#Bamboo_dum_chicken_kebabs : Tangy and well turned out. A dash of lime.#Butter_Tandoori_chaap (Veg) : was ok in taste, chaap are not made in-house and taste not to my liking.#Sharabi_Prawns : Hot sizzler plate, marinated prawns and Taquila sizzle sizzle… Lighting up and wooh! Kebab on fire!#Tandoori_Pomfret : Uff this was amazingly well done. I would fix this as my regular must order everytime I am here

Patang is a brand new place in the happening area of baner, this restaurant has a beautiful dark ambiance with dim lights and comfortable seatings, even if they are new in market they have done a royal entry by launching a biryani and kebab festival which includes unique and different types of kebabs in non veg as and veg and biryanis with some twist and turns, this festival will give you a whole new experience of kebabs and biryanis which will definitely tingle your palate.Coming on to the kebabs and biryanis which i tried here:1)Butter tandoori chaap:This was chaap marinated in tandoori masala and coated with butter, the marination went deep inside the chaap and it was moist and buttery because of that we were able to eat it effortlessly.2)Charred pineapple:This was tandoored pineapple tossed in some black pepper powder, the pineapple was juicy and the black pepper gave a good spicy flavour.3)Prawns desi grill:This was prawns coated in maharashtrian masala and were grilled to perfection, the taste of masala was hitting the palate on each and every bite which was really good, the prawns were big in size and soft, the masala was the winner in this dish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED3)Murg cotton kebab:This was rolled chicken stuffed with melted Cheese, the chicken was really well cooked and the cheese inside was runny and gave a explosion of flavours in mouth.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED4)Bamboo dum kebab:This was boneless chicken cooked in bamboo with onion based masala, the chicken was soft and melted in the mouth and had mild flavour which came really good on palate.5)Dum matka kebab:This was chicken cooked in matka with onion based masala and was tossed in cream, this gave the chicken a creamy taste and the palate was on another level because of the creamy flavour, the chicken was soft and well cooked which was the best part.6)Sharabi murg tikka:This was boneless chicken tikka served on a sizzling plate and then few ml of alcohol is added to it and then it is given a flame which gives a different experience in presentation, the chicken tikka remains as it is without any harm to flavours and gives a really good taste.7)Bamboo butter chaap biryani:This was biryani cooked in bamboo, the presentation was unique and the biryani was fluffy with good masala and chaap.8)Bamboo chicken biryani:This biryani was cooked in bamboo, the biryani was fluffy and the chicken pieces were enough in it with mild flavours and good amount of rice.
