Baner is all about South Indian breakfast these days. Many South Indian restaurants have opened recently in the area. One of them is Thambbi, originally from Mumbai. I only tried breakfast and we ordered 2 specialities at first.1. Small butter podi Idli2. Kela bhajiyaSadly, both were not available. Then we ordered Andhra masala dosa and Pesarattu dosa. Little tip for the foodies to ask the details of the dish before ordering in case you don’t know what that means. Masala dosa was tasty and correct amount of crispy. Sambar and other condiments were okay.Ambience is also good with South Indian vibe.
Visited them last Saturday, for the lunch. The ambiance was really good and very neat and clean. We ordered one masala dosa and one weekend special south Indian meal. The quality of the meal was really delicious. The amount of food is really filthy. Each and every items has been prepared perfectly in South Indian way and were delicious. The service was really great and the staffs were very courteous and well mannered.Ambiance: 5/5Food: 5/5Service: 5/5
Nice place with some good service and great taste. The service here is pretty fast. The place is also hygienic and well maintained. Liked the overall theme of the hotel. They have a lot of variety of dishes from some of the lightest dishes to heavy ones. You can easily either have a snack and brunch/dinner here. The thalis are value for money and quite heavy and are sufficient for two peoples. The dilkush dosa and the filter coffee are must try dishes here. Best filter coffee I ever had.Though they do have shortage of hand churned ice creams from time to time.Overall rating: 3.5/5
Thambi is good place to relish upon the south Indian snacks. I tried andhra dosa, dilkhush dosa and both were good. The sambar and chutneys served are authentic south Indian.
