Amazing Thai cuisine..a must try
I visited a place called Asian Box in Baner, when it comes to baner there are many restaurants with good food but this place is different when it comes to ambiance and food, Place is Situated at Primelocation of baner, I visited with my friends for Sunday Brunch. When it comes to food, I have tried following Dishes -SOUP*Hot & Sour Soup(Chicken) – Soup before lunch is best and Hot and Sour is my favorite once and this place has prepared it so well, chicken pieces were are fresh and the taste was too good. SALAD *Indonesian Gado Gado – In breakfast, I always prefer good and healthy food and Salad is my fist preference and I got that in menu. The taste was good all the sauces were used in proper proportion STARTERS VEG *Aloo Tikki Sliders – It was North Indian specialty are mashed potato cakes with herb and Indian spices, they have presented these cute little nuggets in the form of sliders with a nice slather of coriander chutney and tangy tamarind chutney and enjoy all the praises. *Crispy Corn Salt Pepper – Corn was so soft and tasted too good, it was not oil that was best in the dish, all the spices were used in proper proposition *Pav Bhaji Bruschetta – This dish contained garlic bread sized toasted bread, upon which Bhaji was spread and that was it. Nothing fancy, nothing extraordinary but a dish for a true pav bhaji lover. These were 5 in pieces*Spicy Spinach Dumplings – Dumplings were clearly very fresh and the flavor of the spicy sauce they were mixed into was amazing.NON VEG *Chicken Gyoza – It was available in Steamed and Pan Fried, both were amazing, and the taste was so good, gyozas themselves pair decently well with the sauce, especially since I have mentioned the gyozas themselves taste pretty basic. The sauce tastes amazing and loves them.*Crispy Chicken Lollipop – It’s a very good appetizer. Whenever I dine out, I always have this as a starter and also, I am a non-veg lover so it’s on my fav. too. *Banana Leaf Fish – This was a Thai dish, mixed with ground Thai herbs and spices, was wrapped in a couple of layers of banana leaves, folded into a packet, and grilled, I loved the taste.*Crispy Prawn Wanton – It was crispy and one of my favorite, its was golden in color deep-fried and filled with Prawn and served with Thai chili sauce and mayonnaise.MAIN COURSE *Steamed Rice *Kung Pao Paneer *Spring Onion Ginger Chicken *Sambal Prawns *Bak Mee Goreng (Veg/Chicken) The all main course was served on the table so it a buffet lunch.DESSERT *Apple Crumble Tarts – Crisp, buttery, sweet shortcrust pastry, sharp apple filling and lots of crumbly topping, I loved it as it was not that too sweet. *Assorted Ice Cream with Toppings.Must visit place for Couples, Friends, and Family too.
Asian box has been a go-to place in koregaon park for many and for much time and they have opened up in baner too a long while back now but this branch has a bar which is pretty amazing .Its kind of a hippie place with an open air seating as well as air conditioned seating , i loved the ambiance and specially the efforts put by owners in making of the restaurant. The owners are Singaporeans , so you can imagine the authenticity they bring to their place . Lets come to the real deal – FOOD So we went for a Sunday brunch where they had a set menu comprising of soup , salad , starters , main course and dessert. For the soup i had hot & sour (chicken) which had nice consistency and everything tasty!Huge variety in starters from – Aloo tikki sliders, crispy corn salt pepper, Pav bhaji bruschetta , spicy spinach dumplings , Chicken gyoza , crispy chicken lollipop , banana leaf fish and crispy prawn wantons! All of this was amazing , the standout dishes were banana leaf fish and crispy corn salt and pepper , both made me go drool like anything. The fish wrapped in banana leaf made it to contain the flavours , hence making it so good! Crispy corns- never had such corns in my life , they were mixed up in some amazing sauces and veggies that i couldn’t figure out but it was damn good! The main course was pretty decent as well , didn’t spike much excitement in me though but i loved the sambal prawns . In the dessert , i had apple crumble tarts which was perfectly cooked and its hard to maintain the consistency in tarts which was near to perfection here . PS- They serve one of the best khow sueys in the city and its worth the try . Also the orange basil mojito is a must to have here !!
For quite some time, i wanted to visit chinese, thai speciality restaurant. Asia kitchen specializes in Asian cuisine and we decided to to give it a try by preferring over Mainland China, Malaka spice. Here is my experience.Tom Yum Soup (3/5):Tasted good but quantity needs serious improvement.Kentang Honey Chilly (4/5):Crispy potato fingers tossed in honey and red chillies. Tasted good.Kung pao veg (4/5):Vegetables tossed in kung pap sauce. Tasted good but quantity needs improvement.Kha Suey (3/5):Tasted fine, though it was a bit too sour. The sourness was overpowering rest of the flavours.Udan Noodles (3/5):Flat noodles, tasted okay. Nothing exceptional.Ambience : 4/5Food: 3.5/5VFM: 2.5/5Overall: 3/5Overall it was okay experience, but in terms of food it doesn’t beat chain of other Chinese restaurants. The portion sizes are less considering the price.
