Had dropped in for Christmas celebrations with friends. Good food, service and ambiance. Attraction was cocktails ,foodand service. Enjoyed thoroughly. Close to my residence. Good location for drive in dinner. Merry Christmas.
Very rarely do I stumble upon a restaurant that’s a complete 5/5 for me! Masala Bistro is a true blessing to the Thane food scene. Serving select Indian, Oriental and Continental under one roof, MB doesn’t disappoint in any of the fronts, if anything, it smashes all of them out of the park! By the end of it, you’re so stoked, you don’t care which one of the things you ordered was the best because they’re all equally aced.I could go on about the ambiance and decor of the place (which BTW is not compromised on, whatsoever) but the food of the restaurant is what speaks for me and that’s what I’ll be focusing on, in my review. We started off with the Yemenite soup – a warm turmeric-y broth that was fresh, aromatic and incredibly light and the perfect way to kick-start dinner. As for the appetizers, we wanted to try a little bit of each of their cuisines, so it was the Prawn Tikka (Indian), the Paprika Garlic Wings (Oriental) and the Sriracha Cheese-balls (Continental). The Tikka had classic no-nonsense North Indian flavors (win). The Wings were slightly different than what I’d expected, mostly cause I’m used to eating the quintessential BBQ wings. But let me assure you it wasn’t half bad! The smokiness from the paprika was evident and I enjoyed eating them just as much. Those cheeseballs though, should be renamed to cheese BOMBS! Because they were nothing short of an explosion in my mouth. I genuinely have no words to describe them. This is one of those MUST HAVES that you’ve got to experience for yourself. Coming to the main course, by this time we were so convinced that they’re not going to disappoint that we just let our server decide for us. He recommended the Goan Fish Curry as the Chef’s Special and we also decided to try out the San Bei Ji – a Taiwanese Spicy Chicken combo that I’d been eyeing right from the start. The Goan Fish Curry was hands down the best thing on our table that night! Rich, creamy, coconut base with delectable chunks of Surmai on a bed of hot steamy rice – a seafood lover’s paradise! I still dream of it. The San Bei Ji was not a letdown either, quite tasty in fact, but it couldn’t outshine the glorious Goan Curry that had won the tasting effortlessly. Definitely a dine-in worthy place! Far out MB!
The Masala bistro is located near Manpada. This restaurant has soo much to offer. The ambience is one of its kind and the staff is friendly too. The music here is soft and smooth. The seating and the decor is elegant and rich. Here We tried,1) Canadian Chicken Lasagna – oh my my. This was the best lasagna i have ever tasted soo far. Perfectly made, cheesy and well presented. This is a must try dish.2) Grilled chicken breast sizzler- this was again packed full of flavours. Grilled Chicken was juicy, served with french fries, stuffed green bell pepper, sauted veggies and rice. The mushroom sauce was amazing.3) Chicken pizza- well done , crispy and loaded with cheese.4) Chicken Pink sauce pasta
These guys haven’t skimped on providing top notch ambience with the reflective surfaces, the bendy mirrors and the copperware. Is the food upto mark ?I write this review about a week after dining here and to be honest nothing particularly stands out in the menu.I remember we had ordered a vegetable stir fry with gravy, where the veggies were flotsam over a bucket of gravy.. or the half tandoori which was quite raw within, no marination felt. The butter garlic prawns were deliciously done, and worth a mention for the large serving and the presentation.Main course was average. The service, much like the ambience was impeccable. It’s a lively spot if are into mixed Hindi Tamil and random English numbers and family crowds.Follow thecurvedprobe tlon Instagram for live videos , funny anecdotes and much more !
This place has elegant interiors and courteous staff, you would like to repeat it many times. I have fell in love with their green thai curry, plus their mushroom kung FAO. Plus taftan. These are must must try.
